Yeah, that's kind of the idea I have in my head right now. I'm not trained or anything but I feel like it would be best to be able to generate as many of my own assets as possible. Sprites are the hardest part of that.
It's probably a good idea then to learn drawing in general. So you can do your own concept arts too. Also I've sometimes found it easier to draw an object before working on the sprite so I could use the drawing as reference.
Boy do I dread those off work activities with work mates. Not like I don't get along with my coworkers, but I really want to be able to focus on my own shit in my spare time. I barely even have the motivation to meet with my friends anymore even...
I really hate working with my team at all. I've learned to just sit there and not say anything. Esp when there's a problem and I know the solution, because they're not going to understand what I'm saying, and often even misinterpret what I'm saying because they have terrible language skills. Sometimes they even get mad over those misunderstandings. They're dangerously stupid. I'm glad you had fun doing that activity, but I would really dread doing that with my coworkers.
I mean, I'm used to thinking about ways to escape any room that I share with them, but I do that on my own and wouldn't want them to escape with me.
it's rare but it does happen. it seems to be mostly japanesse and german companies who do it, but that might just be because i like to watch video game stuff
