my big-boy job apparently put me through the wrong hiring process and put me on as a mistake since I'm not qualified for the position that they thought they were hiring me for.
They wanted me to be the guy who's in charge of the guys who work for the position I applied for. So instead of doing tech repair and setup and such, apparently they thought I was being hired on to be the guy who is in charge of assigning other people those problems and generally manages that team of people and has more manager-like responsibilities, of which a minimum of 2 years of experience is required
They did say when they interviewed me for that lesser position though (by mistake) that I did fantastic and they would love to hire me for that position, when/if it becomes available.
