have you guys ever used one of those sites where you list all the ingredients you have in your kitchen, and it spits back a bunch of recipes you could make out of those ingredients? it's pretty neat
I had a sort of similar idea for a thing where I wrote something that knew all the recipes I could make and I could tell it what I wanted to eat this week and it would spit out a shopping list
my mother actually had a shopping list with everything she bought regularly on it, and she photocopied hundreds of them and then just crossed off the things she didn't need each week rather than trying to remember all the things she did need
I got almost $100 more than last year. I don't think any of the tax laws affecting me changed, I think I just paid more in student loans last year.
My state also added a feature where they verify your identity with your drivers license number, which is good.
I watched a show last year (60minutes or 20/20) where they talked about how huge tax refund fraud is in the US. The number of people affected was in the millions. Fraudsters were filing dozens of returns every fucking day, all with the checks to be mailed to their house - and it fucking worked! They said the best thing to do is file early, because if the thieves use your ssn before you do then you're basically fucked.
I use turbo tax and it's totally free and online. I had nothing to itemize. I mean, I probably could have tried to write off my internet as a work related expense but an audit is the last thing I need. I went through that about ten years ago with the gambling shit. You have to tell them the same thing over and over, certified mail, etc. It's a real bitch.
