Well this sucks. My computer support/sales job sorta let me go out of the blue. They only had me scheduled two days last week and when I asked them about it they said that my position was "going to be changing on or around the 22nd" and asked me to sign some paperwork about what other positions I'd like instead, since they're still currently over staffed (despite out of the whole store of 60~ workers, I was #3 in sales, so I shouldn't be moved out of that section anyway). We talked about it a few days ago and they said they'll keep me posted, but I'm probably going to the tablet section before transferring to being an ~Apple Guy~ full time. I don't care one way or another, I'll sell iCrap and enjoy selling it. But anyway, the schedule goes up, and I'm not scheduled a single day this week or next week, so I text my manager asking if it's correct, no response. Wait a day and ask if they might need help closing or anything during this week and to let me know, no response. I got called in today, so I dressed up, showed up, and they gave me paperwork letting me know that next week is officially my last week of "working". When I told them I have no days scheduled, they said, yeah that's just how it goes.
I mean I still have my accounting job, and since tax season is ramping up we have a ton of work. And then I'm moving in a few months anyway, so it isn't too big of a deal
I also kind of knew already they were letting people go cause my buddy that works there got let go earlier this week, and he was barely behind me in terms of sales and such
but since we had only been there 4 months or so, and other people had been there for years, they kept those people
yeah nah I understand why they did it, you wanna look out for your friends and stuff. But if the company would rather keep one of my coworkers who fell asleep in the break room for literally an hour on his 10-minute break, instead of someone who was actually working and helping out, it speaks a lot about the company. They said they'd give me great recommendation if I use them as a reference though, and having a real work experience in regards to tech instead of just saying "oh yeah I've helped out family and friends!" is pretty valuble
seems like I get in a bad ryhtm of staying up later and later and later when I don't have any sort of schedule, then I try to fix it and my brain is just like. Yeha, nah, you're done son
I pulled a stack of late night coding sessions because I was in the groove and didn't want to stop, so I've been going to bed at like 3pm and getting up at 11 pm
my problem is the close friends I have are all around the world (STATUES CRUMBLE FOR MEE) so when I'm casually chatting and getting invited to games, and one goes to bed, another one is awake and it's like, dammit
