i keep patching that old one up but it is slowly deteriorating, it's given 7 1/2 years long service

it also weighs a ton, would quite like to get one with an aluminium frame

I'll maybe need to get a bike once I move out. Fuck cars and driving.

The problem is I don't feel like becoming a bike mechanic who can use half-rotten bikes and fix them everytime they're about to fall apart, and with a new bike I couldn't take it anywhere since It would just get stolen...

There needs to be a public torture punishment on bike thievery. If nothing else stops those fuckheads.

yeah bike theft is a real pain

nobody's touched my old one but that's because it's old and ugly. that is the problem with getting a new one, you're immediately a target for thievery

I have a friend who got a new bike and immediately painted a load of ugly paint all over it so it wouldn't get stolen lol

yeah i don't really get it either ... they make locks that are incredibly difficult to cut with tools you can find at a hardware store
