Maybe. If you ate anything weird lately, that might be it.

I cooked some beef the night before, and felt queasy after eating it.  My sweetie had the same meal though and he was fine.  Maybe I got a bed piece?  Who knows.  Haven't cooked beef at home for a very long time.
Did it taste weird? Did it smell before you cooked it? If it didn't, it should have been fine. Unnless you cooked it neraly raw. They say you can eat beef raw if it's fresh, but I wouldn't take any chances anyways.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
It may not have been the cooked meat itself, but cross contamination from when it was raw. It can be pretty easy to forget to sanitize something that's touched raw meat and use it for something else.

opium that does sounds a lot like food poisoning i've had before, especially the throwing up bile part

i got it once really bad in college, was up all night puking
The meat looked and smelled fresh.  Not sure wtf happened.

That's why I hate cooking meat. I'm always super conscious of that shit due to the time I worked in a hospital so I don't like touching anything in the kitchen with my hand when I'm preparing raw meat.

Guess I just need to get used to properly preparing everything beforehand. But that's a pain in our crammed kitchen because my family members can't keep anything in order to save their lifes.

isnt it usually just bacteria that you can't detect? it's pretty rare that it gets into off the shelf meat but sometimes it happens
it sounds more like a virus, they tend to be more acute, food poisoning usually lasts a bit longer, but I'm no doctor
we're getting into the season for them as well

must weigh a ton
Quote from DJGrenola:
must weigh a ton

is ton used in british english or are you deliberately using ton instead of tonne?
uh god lol

well we had imperial tons before we had metric tonnes so we use both I guess, I mean I don't mean a literal tonne, I'm using it metaphorically
ah ok, i always thought tonne was just the british spelling of ton
no they're actually distinct units
ah so tonne is strictly used for actual weight
whereas ton can be used metaphorically
well they're still very heavy things lol, you can use either term metaphorically

most people would probably use the two terms interchangeably not actually realising that strictly they're different weight units, but I'm slightly smarter than most people so I understand the difference :p
heh well there's no difference in speech at least
if you're just talking about something heavy that is
right, it's the same as how "practice" used to be the noun (like "advice") and "practise" used to be the verb (like "advise") but very, very few people observe the difference now because they are pronounced the same, so the distinction has evaporated
oh interesting, we use practice for both
