they didn't until the last couple of years when it was brought in because hey let's copy america, nothing can possibly go wrong
there were a few retailers last year who were like "uh yeah we won't be doing that again, it was fucking horrible"
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Black Friday isn't what it used to be. It's a frenzy because of media hype, but these days the sales are often extended and you can find better deals on Cyber Monday or the day after Christmas.

so yeah not exactly a universal success

"Black Friday is as American as Trick or Treat. Why are the UK public sucker in to such rubbish yet moan when they think the EU us eroding their identity, even when they aren't. Simple. Too many American TV shows."

it's funny cause I know so many (youngish) people who are obssesed with ~UK Culture~. Like Weaboos but fucking worse. Doctor Who, the Beatles, and so much more stuff I've managed to keep myself away from. Like they get those big knee-high socks with the british flag on them, and it's like wtf, you've never even VISITED
not like I care any more, this country is rapidly going to shit

and I mean rapidly

the worst one was awhile back one of my friends started forcing herself to talk with a british accent. We called her out on it, and she was like "oh it's just because I've been watching so many of their shows!"

STOP THAT
i think the worst is chicks who fawn over british dudes just because of their accent. does that even happen the other way around?

iirc there were australian women who fawn over american dudes because of how they talk? Or at least my aunt said something like that, especially the californian boys.
not really bspark, not any more ... it certainly did when rock 'n' roll arrived in the 50s, but US TV and music is so universally prevalent now there's no mystery in it any more
i feel like us culture is everywhere so they would be desensitized to it
it was a thing once

yes exactly
ah yeah exactly what i thought then
although I do find some US accents quite sexy, the west coast ones I guess
though i've never understood why people equate british accents with being fancy
Club 27 Goals
yeah like don't get me wrong, I'd love to visit that side of the puddle, but the obsession is just something I don't get.

I mean, I guess it's not so different than when kids get really into video games and wear video game tshirts and talk like the characters and stuff. *cough sonic cough*

oh baby give me them digits and I'll give you some real nice talks <3 $1.50 per minute
but then there are certain british accents I prefer as well
Club 27 Goals

Victorian era. That's literally it. Fancy rich british people portrayed in movies from back in that era when ~chivalry~ wasn't dead
ok poision you're probably the best offer I'm likely to get any time soon
