it may depend on where you were at the time, she got quite big in the UK, "it's oh so quiet" definitely made top 10 in the singles chart

We were goth kids when we discovered sugarcubes.  Def weren't mainstream.  Lots of gays and weird kids like solo bjork I think.

What is kinda weird though is the music I listened to in the 90s I didn't like at all until years later when I was in highschool then I got really into it. Korn, limp bizkit, in flames, foo fighters, rtc. Stuff my dad would blast and I just didn't care, and then it clicked years later. I still wonder if I like it because I was exposed to it while young, or if like.... There's some genetic connection

In high school my favorite bands were Tear Garden, Legendary Pink Dots, Skinny Puppy, Bauhaus, Front 242, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Cure, Sugarcubes, Sisters of Mercy, Nitzer Ebb, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, etc

I like turtles.
Been watching The Flash, and boy howdy do I wish the people making it were the ones in charge of the DC film universe.  This show is so unashamed of the comic book color and tone that are inherent factors in adapting the medium, and it's all the better for embracing them - as opposed to constantly trying to deconstruct or discredit the tropes that made the characters popular in the first place.  It's really telling that Flash outperformed Arrow in ratings as soon as it premiered.

It's also very telling that Arrow is shifting itself towards being more comic book-y, with Oliver finally going by Green Arrow and going up against a guy who uses black magic. They're even bringing someone back from the dead! Full on comics right there.
