i remember zemeckis saying when they made the third one they had every stuntman in hollywood trying to get a job on it because it was a western and nobody made those any more and they were all desperate to do one

heh

bet they're loving tarantino these days
heh yes

don't think i've seen anything of his past jackie brown
oh no i did see kill bill
red chamber dream
kill bill is still my favorite of his
hm ... I thought the second part was better than the first, the last half hour of the first film ... I guess it was supposed to be exhilarating but I was just bored

and the end of the second film was pretty lame too when he starts talking about superman, I'm like yeah I just don't believe the character would start talking about this, that's not bill talking, it's quentin going off on one
the bit where she's trapped in the coffin though is one of the best bits of film I've ever seen
but I'm largely going to credit uma thurman for making that work

that's how all his movies are though haha

and yeah i love part 2 a lot more than 1 as well
one thing I do like about part 1 is that it's a film almost entirely about women, there are basically no significant male characters in it at all
red chamber dream
ah yeah, it's a stark contrast to reservoir dogs which i think is interesting
Deathproof and Inglorious Basterds are good too.  Kill Bill is my fav

i like all of his movies. django's also great
red chamber dream
tarantino is really good at naming his movies heh
i think dogs is probably my favourite of the ones I've seen
it's weird how widely condemned the violence in it was, I remember watching it and thinking yeah what's all the fuss

mind you I was a teenager at the time and teenagers are a fairly psychotic bunch
i've seen much more disturbing films and I'm not even a connoisseur of that kind of thing
like duel, that's an amazing film
no budget and probably spielberg's best film because it doesn't contain any of the rank sentimentality you get in his other shit

i've never seen jaws though, probably should sometime
red chamber dream
jaws is good but watching it now is tough

have to try and get into the mindset of a 70s viewer
saw the martian the other week in london actually
first time I've been to the flicks since snakes on a plane
it was okay but I thought it would have been better if I'd actually felt like matt damon was in any real danger at any point, he's just a bit too upbeat about everything, not enough of a sense of peril

just emotionally all a bit flat ... it was entertaining enough though
