ah gotcha, interesting. Reminds me of when I used to read Pholph, it was all about that sorta thing. Hell, the opening story arc is about a kid going to school, shooting it up, and dying, then going to hell and meeting all the wonderful sin down there. Just lots of grotesque themes, hell, etc. I re-read most of it again recently and I missed a ton of other themes and imagery, but considering the first time I read it in middle school, I'm not surprised.
it's odd, isn't it, how that sort of thing appeals so much but for a majority it just kinda... stops being interesting. I guess that's just part of growing up and going through phases or something? Or it just something you get used to? who knows, I'm sure there's giant novels written about it.
