i don't think that's true because it only seems to be prevalent on the internet

I see it in person too, and it's always with the college age crowd.  I interact strangers much more often on the internet so of course I see it more on the internet, but it's not exclusive to it by any means.
Of the people I interact with on the internet that I DO know in real life, none of them are SJW even though they're pretty much all on the left.  I always thought it was because they were my age.

i dunno, i don't personally know anyone who gets offended at that stuff so i figured it was some internet hivemind thing

i mean of course there's going to be the occaional wacko who talks about it all the time irl but that's always been true
Maybe you're right, I just always have thought that waves of change in social attitude were ushered in by the next gen, but the internet is still relatively new.

i think it's just dumb people latching on to the rhetoric that started gaining prevalence online after 2008

i say that because from what i've seen it's not just young people, it's 30+ year olds too
I wanna know when everyone just decided to concede victory to anyone who played the card of ism accusations without paying any mind to reason.  It seems like that little trick is what has emboldened these people.  They can't win an argument with logic or reason, so they shame the other person and it's game over.  Then this 'Emperor's New Clothes' thing takes off like a virus, and the people who were served the card have now learned the trick so they use it on others.  Anyone who dares question it is ostracized.  It's so fucking ridiculous. Shaming other people for questioning an idea is how bad ideas get traction, like religion, CRT, et al.

good point, but i think that's also because of the internet ... those people are the most vocal and no one wants to argue with them because they're stupid lol
red chamber dream
then again the internet is rapidly becoming just life in general, so maybe it doesn't matter

bunch of humorless pricks

Oh, because obviously having a laugh is so much more important than showing respect and decency to people. YOU are part of the problem. /s

Imitating a social justice warrior takes little effort nowadays, honestly.

podcasts are the ultimate medium for me right now ... being able to take a walk or run and listen to people talk about anything i want is more appealing than visiting websites
Thankfully only a few of my old classmates have had "outbursts" of that nature. I remember one girl posting this long-ass comment telling everyone who thought female sterility jokes were acceptable to unfriend her.

heh my favorite is this guy who only talks about anti-abortion stuff ... it's 100% of his life, seemingly
Oh, is that what's his face?
Um... forgot the username.

This. I've been in love with podcasts since highschool, was so great being able to listen to them riding my bike to and from school

Are- Are those jokes common these days? I mean I've been on the internet good while and have literally never heard a joke about sterility regardless of gender lol. I mean unless "fuck yeah, no kids for me!!" counts as a joke. Seen a couple of those.

Just seems so specific.
