yeah but the galaxy is, you know, huge

and i'm not sure what else we would try. if we can't sense something, and our machines also can't, how are we supposed to look for it? radio waves sound like our best bet right now

i mean obviously scientists at nasa or wherever have thought this through—they're way smarter than you or me

Yeah I'm just saying that maybe that's why we're not finding anything - because the thing(s) we need to be looking for are things we have no clue about...yet. I'm sure they've thought of that, so have I.

And when I asked why they only seem to care about radio waves, it was a sincere question (maybe there's a good reason?) It wasn't supposed to imply that I had made some kind of breakthrough by being the first person to think outside their box.

how does such a worthless piece of shit become a manager?

make sure to carry a knife on you at all times.

Her dad is good friends with the head manager. That's the only reason she got promoted.

Quote from Opium:
It freaks me out when I think about how we perceive reality with our senses, and there are more than 5, but they are so limited.  Like our eyes only detect a tiny tiny fraction of the full range of wavelengths of light, and our ears only perceive a small amount of the range of sound waves, etc.  There's so much around us that we simply aren't able to detect, or even perceive.  Our ideas and outlooks are largely limited by this tiny range of perception.  Life elsewhere might view reality much differently than we do.

You know whats crazy? all of our senses are just electro receptors in our brains perceiving things around us. We could, honestly, just have our brains floating in a glass jar, getting zapped by a machine to tell us what we "see", "feel", "hear", etc. We will never, ever, be able to know if that's true or not.

also re:Pewdiepie

His "Character" is insufferable, but way too many people don't realize that Pewdiepie is just a character. It's not how he actually acts or anything, he's pretty chill irl and pretty smart. He knows his character sells really fucking well, so he plays it up.

same with Markiplier
I like turtles.
Arguably same with Egoraptor as well.  You can't convince me that, given his other online presences and his Sequelitis videos, he's not actually vastly smarter than his Grumps persona.  Although that is still painful to watch sometimes.
i dunno, egoraptor has a type of humor where he can get away with being silly and yelling, at least in his sequelitis videos. pewdiepie's screaming is in no way tolerable or funny. i'm convinced his entire fanbase is less than 15 years old
I like turtles.
It helps that Arin makes sure to clearly separate his grouchy yelly persona from his "let's wear some spectacles and look at this critically and thoughtfully" persona.  I haven't seen pewdiepie, but I'm guessing the personality he presents isn't handled in such a way as to contrast with intelligent expression?

Not as much, because his fan base are vastly children and honestly believe that pewdiepie us how he actually acts, irl,  24/7. They even mimick this and think it's okay because he does it. It's gross.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
His character makes kids double annoying therefore he is still a piece of shit irl. stern
One shall stand, one shall ball.
All youtubers are pieces of shit though, to be fair, let's not single any one out!

Laffo apparently they're doing post game interviews with the runners at SGDQ this year. I don't know if that's silly or that it's silly that they have taken this long to come up with something besides literally nothing between runs.

piers are rad and totally a trip to be on, especially when you're on them for hours at a time and it's like... yeah if this thing collapsed I'd die
Club 27 Goals
idunno what the diffrence are for piers/wharfs, but this is the one in my city. There's restaurants all over it, used to eat there all the time. great sea food, but kinda scary.

lol they're not that scary. do you not know how to swim?
Club 27 Goals
Well Kay not the one ark posted

But the one I posted is really far from land, and that water gets really cold
I think if you were on a big structure like that one and it failed you probably wouldn't get a chance to do much swimming anyways.  I couldn't worry about something like that happening though if I was on it because it's just too unlikely.
