all the medical places are closed for the whole weekend, AND the urgent care wants me to put down a $300 deposit and told me they're going to charge "additional fees given the circumstance"
like how hard is it to take 30 minutes to flush out a patient's ear. what the fuck yo.
bought myself a kit to do it myself for $10 and it's already working, but is going to take a couple days.
I had some water stuck in my right ear just yesterday. It was bad enough to impair my hearing too. Shaking my head around fixed the issue for me, surprisingly.
I've had my ear flushed by the doctor multiple times. They always use a syringe or other tool that can shoot water at high pressure, and they always shoot the water in my ear at just the right angle. I've never tried to do it myself because I can't see into my ear at that angle, but there are several you tube videos out there telling you exactly how to do it.
Every time they flush my ears a big ball of crap comes out and I'm always amazed at the size of it. That thing was in my ear?! Then I feel so much better because I can hear and I think my energy level goes up too.
In other news: Soul Reaver has made me barf twice. It gives me motion sickness, so I'm laying off it for now. Played through AV last night, and Fusion this morning, now messing around with Dawn of Sorrow.
I think I want to take another stab at Lament of Innocence. I just remember getting lost all the time, so I ordered a guide. With my survey credits, the guide only cost me $0.97 so why not.
When I was younger I had some intense inner ear pain. My mom took me to the doctor and he found it was caused by wax buildup. They had to blast it out with a water pick, and it came out being about the size of a rasin.
I clean my ears religiously now. I don't care what the Qtip package says, that bitch goes all the way in.
i figure if my body needed that it would do it by itself
Part of the problem for me is being an envirnment constantly where I'm exposed to oils and stuff in the air. Every day working at TB my nose would be completely clogged, my face would be covered in oils, so I can't even imagine what it was doing to my ears.
As an update, both ears are compeltely clogged and I was given some was-flushing stuff that I'm supposed to do two times a day... but can take up to four days before I can fully hear again. and, if it doesn't clear up in that time, it means I'll have to go in for a more serious deep-cleaning. Fuckinnnnn sweet.
I put in some warm olive oil and just sat in the shower with a little ear-sprayer thing and just sprayed my ears out for like 5 minutes. Two small solid pebbles came out of my left ear and instantly my headache was gone, and a bunch of crap came out of my right ear. It's absolutely amazing how much better I can hear right now, apparently it's been oil buildup in my ears for the last 3 months. I didn't notice until they were completely blocked because it's happened so slowly. The doctor said I can just make it a habit to flush out my ears with warm water in the shower, but not to use any oils or things since SOME ear wax is good. In my case, it was just a ton of compacted buildup.
I seriously underestimated how much space is in my ear. Even just wearing my headset is crazy since I can hear the padding rub against my hair and beard, something I don't recall hearing before.
I dunno how it works for everybody else, but my body does not take care of that junk by itself. I gotta do it manually. My dad was the same way. No clue why.
I knew my dad always had problems with his ears, he was a long-time surfer and had a plethora of ear problems as a result from what I recall. Not sure if it's a genetics thing or what.

Damn I'm so jealous. I need my ear wax taken out NOW!
PS - Qtips in the ear is a very bad thing. It pushes the crap back in there, which often leads to ear infections on top of wax buildup.
Get this. This morning we were laying around watching TV. The dog was licking my sweetie's feet. We fell asleep for an hour or so. Then we wake up and he said the dog was nibbling his feet. I looked over and there's blood all over the dog's mouth and on the couch. The dog had eaten half of his big toenail and a bunch of the skin was gone. He's diabetic and couldn't feel it! I cleaned it and dressed it, and am trying to keep it from getting infected - but damn! Fucking horror movie in my house!
