It's from here. Only recognized it because one of the images had been used as the cover art for a single by Ariel Pink (Round and Round). I love the idea that someone had that montage locked and loaded to post in outrage if gay marriage became legalized nationwide in the US.
"If accepted by Congress and this president, this decision will be a serious blow to religious liberty, which is the heart of the First Amendment." — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination.
I love how the xians always talk about how gay marriage will harm them, but none of them is able to say HOW. They also don't understand that the fight for marriage equality has NOTHING to do with religion at all. It was a matter of state, not church. All gays wanted was the marriage license, which doesn't come from any church, it's issued by the state. Wedding ceremonies and cultural significances of marriage are completely unaffected - we are all as free to define that for ourselves now as we were before. Even one of the supreme court justices didn't understand this, and had to have it explained to him during a hearing.
No. None of the churches or religions would ever be told what to think or believe. It's alwasy strictly been about the marriage license. If some catholic gays want the catholic church to think gay marriage is great, then that has nothing to do with the state, or the fight for gay marriage.
THink about how women have moved up in some sects of the church. That never had anything to do with govt. That's why there's so many sects to begin with. The church is completely self governing in such policies, and they split up every time their congregation disagrees on something.
That's why it was always so stupid when xians would start talking about how their church would be forced to perform gay weddings. Nothing could be further from the truth. Wedding ceremonies have nothing to do with the legal contract of marriage, in fact they're optional. It's always been about the legal contract, period.
the main reason is that most christians are dumb and don't understand politics. i sincerely believe this is true. they don't realize that churches still don't have to marry gays if they don't want to - churches can do whatever the fuck they want in this country, it's ridiculous
A bunch of the states that have gay marriage were only able to pass the bills once the language was included that specified that churches would not be forced to perform gay weddings. This is so stupid, because the reason that wording wasn't included to begin with is because it should go without saying if one has any clue about the law.
