Club 27 Goals

Teacher and I went back and forth with emails. He congratulated me on the stuff I did turn in, since I scored perfectly on every assignment I was "able to turn in". Apparently I fucked up though majorly on the final. We did an in-class group project for the final, which I got 80/80 on (and my project buddies didn't, apparently he knew I helped them out etc etc). However, AFTER the group project was turned in, there was a written portion. Since I finished the group project before my project buddies, and they still had about half an hour left to go for their portion, I left early thinking I had finished. That got me 0/115 points on the written portion.

I know it's totally my fault, and just taking this as a learning experience to not be a dumbass and watch my grades more carefully even though everything in the class was a breeze. I shouldn't have had any problem aceing everything, but my confidence was ultimately my downfall.

The good news is I can take the class for free. Bad news is it delays my grant by yet another semester, and that fucking blows.

I'm not saying that it wasn't wrong for you to leave early if you'd finished, but to automatically score you zero for doing so seems harsh. Was there nobody there who could have said 'oh, by the way, you do know that leaving now is an automatic zero, right?'

yeah I mean there's a tremendous amount of things I could have done differently to avoid this from happening, and of course I feel like someone could have said something to me as well. Even just a simple email or something, although I know college professors aren't supposed to do that sort of thing, I did talk to him outside of class a few times briefly as well, and he definitely knew me by name off the bat. Also my project buddies definitely could have dropped me a text saying "hey, there's a big written portion we have to do after we turned in the project, you gotta come back". I should have been watching the grades more closely as well, if I had caught it earlier I still would have had time to do it online. Unfortunately it was days before I got ready for a big trip that etc etc. Lots of excuses and other things I could have done.

On the bright side when I take the class again, I have every note I took, all the homework, and knowledge now, so I should be able to pretty much knock out every assignment in the first week and leave that time open for my other classes I need to do anyway.

heh, bad luck.

I was sitting a public exam at age 16 and I'd finished, and I noticed the guy sitting next to me hadn't realised there was a question on the back page of the paper, and he's just sitting there obliviously thinking he's finished.

and I couldn't do anything because if I'd tried to catch his attention the supervisors might have thought I was trying to cheat lol, so I just had to watch him throw something like 10% of the marks away

My job sucks. We've had a new boss for a few months now, and every week they have a shit fit because they tell me that I'm doing something wrong, then I tell them that everyone has been doing it that way for years and ask them what the correct way to do it is, then they make something up, then I explain to them the reasons why that won't work. Why do companies put people in charge of departments that they have no experience in?

not sure we have that brand name specifically but there are convenience stores yeah

where I live is pretty residential and sleepy though so options are limited but if I lived in a bigger city there would be many more places open at this time

That was one of the coolest things being in San Jose (big city over in Cali). You could hit the city at any hour of night and it was alive. Felt really safe too surprisingly, lots of cops walking around and rich people just openly walking the streets. First time I saw a Lambo irl not on some kind of car display, just driving around.

I love the big city, lots of people complain about noise but feeling like the world around me is alive is comforting somehow.

Got my second tattoo started today. Expanded my Nintendo sleeve with a Mario piece. Still have two more appointments to finish it (one for color, the second for touch-ups.) Unfortunately my camera is shit, and the Auqaphor on my skin makes it look even worse, but I assure you that it looks MUCH better in person. We were supposed to finish the blue background today, but I couldn't handle it anymore. The underarm is fucking sensitive... I already knew this, but damn...
