hopefully I'll get to do some more electronics now I have this new computer, need to think of some neat ideas for hardware
printed circuit board manufacture has never been easier, places like dirtypcbs.com will just take your gerber source files from Eagle CAD and send you 10 PCBs for $15
I tried getting into electronics early last year, but then got into the souls games and didn't have the interest getting back into it. The book I used wasn't the best for getting into electronics. My brother recently got a book that seemed great for it, maybe I'll try again using that one.
I used to hate it, but a while back my buddy got me in to occasionally checking out r/funny (where the post funny shit, obviously.) Branched out a bit, and now there's a few different subreddits that I look through daily. Can definitely be a huge time sink though, not gonna lie. I also don't care for how it's all laid out design-wise, but I much prefer it over, ugh... 4chan.
Oh yeah so remember that whole thing about how the doctor's office told me they couldn't let me legally leave, etc etc? And then gave me a free checkup to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack so they could let me go.
Well, apparently my mother just received a $150 bill for it in the mail. Guess I'll have to give them a call.
one thing I never did learn is how shit like .com, .org, etc is regulated. I really want to somehow get a ".db" domain, but after googling high and low, can not figure out how that would be possible.
but one annoying thing is I know there's some crazy domain names.
kassad.in for example, the name Kassadin is a champion in LoL, and yet .in is supposed to be used for the Indian government? Yet digging into the register information for the kassad.in url shows it's just some dude in san francisco that got it. But what's werid is his email ends with "@fea.st", which after looking into a bit brought me to another website "sur.ly".
is there some sort of secret to unique domains that I'm just missing or
it used to be up to the country, some countries used to dislike foreigners buying domains but even in that case AFAIK there were proxying services you could buy them through
I've only ever bothered with .uk and a couple of .com domains which I don't have any more
first time I've done that process with a smartphone though ... sure helps a lot because when you try on a pair of glasses in the mirror they appear to be twice as far away from you as the mirror is, and you can't actually see them properly if you're really short sighted (which I am). but if you use the phone's camera you can see your face much closer.
they're all either wide rectangular ones or retro hipster ones with black plastic frames. i even looked through the women's section but there still wasn't really anything I liked. never mind.
yeah I should have shopped around a bit more, I'll do that next time. I just figured that any single optician would have enough selection that there was bound to be something. but no!
I'm really choosy though. most men just let their girlfriends pick like a bunch of fucking spineless lamers.
