I really like the style of those pics/paintings/images.

We got 10" of fucking show lastnight and all of our trees are bent all the way to the ground!  I had to go out there and beat the snow off of them with a broom.  Now they're standing at about 30 degrees.  Strangely, there's no breakage that I can see.  I'm hoping that they stand back up and don't die.

edit:  I take it back about the breakage.  We lost a big branch that was 4 inches thick.  Totally broken  :(  Not sure what to do with it.  It's freaking huge.
YAY I HAVE A LAPTOP THAT WORKS AGAIN

Eyyyy congrats :D what happened to the last one?
It's the same one, just with a touchpad that doesn't spontaneously decide it's been clicked and therefore must highlight or drag around or activate whatever the cursor is moving over.
Though this did prompt my husband to remind me that he got me a brand new laptop weeks or months ago that I haven't so much as turned on.  Inertia, thy name is me.

I find track pads to be pretty insufferable. Always make sure to bring a mini wireless mouse in my laptop bag just in case.
My Majoras Mask puzzle from Club Nintendo showed up today.  What a piece of shit.  It's not even in a box.  The puzzle pieces came in a paper envelope.  It weighs next to nothing.  I'm not going to open it but I think the pieces are the kind of tagboard that manila folders are made out of.  This isn't an 800 point club nintendo prize, this is something that you find in a cereal box.  FUQ ninty.

bummer
I should have gotten a second messenger bag.
Sounds like about what I'd expect for 800 points.

Assuming points in the US have the same value as points in europe do.

Here's a fun project. Count the number of pieces for the puzzle, take 800 and divide it by that number. Now you have the cost of points per piece. Calculate how much money it takes to get enough codes for 800 points, and figure out the cents for one point. Multiply that against the point per piece variable, and figure out how much each piece of the puzzle is worth.

Almost happy
You made dividing the price for 800 points by the number of puzzle pieces sound a lot more complicated than it is :P

lol, drunken math ftw

There's no definite dollars to points ratio.  One point of measure is this: when redeeming points, a game that retails for $30 will cost you 700 points.

I also just noticed that they cut the amount of points needed to get the puzzle IN HALF!  In now only costs 400 points.  FUQ Nintendo!!  The messenger bag is down to 500 points.  Apparently they have extra inventory and need to get rid of it.  Seems to me that it would have been smarter to give people the opportunity to earn more points via some kind of contest or something, or let people win the items somehow.  Slashing the amount of points needed to buy everything only pisses off the people who paid more, and besides by now nearly everyone has spent all of their points because they know they can't earn any more.  I don't know who at NOA has been making decisions about CN for the past two years, but I think they're an idiot.

honestly, it doesn't really matter ... none of the rewards are that great anyway, and it's all free, who cares
Yeah I know you don't care, but you know that I do, so 'who cares' is kind of shitty (honestly).

BTW, I love this guys paintings.  I wish I could afford one:

i just don't get what there is to complain about. it's all free, and all the non-game rewards are obviously going to be cheap quality, that's how these programs work lol
Some people collect that stuff and have for many years (like me).  It's not 'free'.  If it was, then nobody would be selling it on ebay for $20-$700.  The points aren't free, therefore the things you trade them for are also not free.
I've been collecting this stuff for a long long time and there are gems in the collection and there are pieces of crap, too.  I prefer the gems, obviously.
I wish I could just use dollars to get those things.  It would be MUCH cheaper that way.

Does he even sell them?

Although I find the artistic quality of most paintings to be poor, there's quite a few I'd wish to have on my walls just for the scenes they depict. Just scrolling through the gallery gave me nostalgic shivers. :/

Yes he does sell them.  The older ones are bad, but you can see how he's gotten better over time.  He gets mad if you ask him how much they are via his facebook page, and prefers private messages instead.  I know that some tiny 4"x 4" paintings were $65, so they aren't cheap.  He does do custom work, in fact I think most of those paintings are custom orders.

I like how he paints on the side of the canvas, too.
I like turtles.
Finally ordered parts to build my new desktop, something I've been planning as a post-graduation activity since the start of the year.  Just have to wait on shipping now.
I applied for a job at 4pm last night.  This morning they called me and asked if I would do an interview.  I said yes, name the time and place.  They said right now and proceeded to interview me via phone for 90 minutes.  I was nervous and unprepared.  Then they said they wanted to meet me in person soon.  I said I was available Thurs and Fri.  They said TODAY.  I'm like SURE!  6pm.  Wish me luck.
