i should probably know this seeing as i live in granola country
see granola is another weird one because people in the UK know what that is now, but 15 years ago they didn't, and in fact the ignorance of the term is why my username is misspelled
Quaker usually makes the best ones.

oh that's awesome

i never knew it was unintentional
Hey, at least you know how to make them.
I love cold cereal.  Every once in a while I will treat myself to a box of the sweet stuff, but it's got so much damn sugar in it that I can't eat it as often as I would like to.  Froot Loops, Life, Cocoa Puffs, Golden Grahams, Sugar Smacks, Lucky Charms, Frosted Flakes - they're all delicious!

I kinda always have a box of less sugary cold cereal around because it's quick and easy when you're hungry but you don't feel like preparing anything.

I always eat my cereals cold with milk - Didn't even know there was a way of eating it in a hot state. I'll have to look into that.

Gotta look for alternatives for milk anways. I hear the older you get the less your body can handle milk...though that's different from person to person.

the only hot cereals i've heard of are oatmeal and porridge

i guess you could make hot shredded wheat or something but that seems kinda gross

I'm pretty sure lactose intolerance is totally genetic.  My genes come from northern europe so I have no issues with milk whatsoever.  Does it really change for people over time?

The only hot cereal I ever have is oatmeal and cream-of-wheat.

That's what I thought until I heard older people talk about how they no longer take fresh milk so well

i think it does change a bit for some people. i've noticed a difference as i get older but not enough to stop drinking milk
it does make sense, since lactose intolerance is a known problem but when you're an infant it's all you get to eat, so there has to be a point where you go from tolerating it to not tolerating it
Lactose intolerant infants are typically given formula that uses soy instead of dairy, or boob juice.
didn't know there were lactose intolerant infants, bang goes my theory

for most humans i think it has more to do with drinking milk from other animals rather than lactose specifically

that's just a guess based on what i've read though
I like turtles.
All this talk of milk makes me want a bowl of cold cereal.  With my current diet I would improvise something like sweetened chopped pecans with vanilla almond and coconut milk instead.
