right now i'm just trying to understand idkbutlike2's reasons for saying the mind and body are separate things
Heh, come on Chewy, give us some insight that'll throw all our statements down the drain :P
too lazy
also busy trying to write music
Don't worry. You have an extra day this year :P
Have you done a four chord song yet?

i'd imagine those are pretty boring without vocals
Dave Gilmour-eque guitar solos all over them chords say no
What is that progression called anyway? I know a 12 bar blues is a I-IV-V progression but that's about the extent of my musical theory.
not sure
there's no 12 bar on my album yet! woo
Oh wow, that four chord video is amazing.
I can't get enough of the 12 bar. I understand how some people (the rhythm section in my band) find it boring but I just think it's a great little boundary to play around in for as long as you feel like.

there's a difference between making an observation and turning it into a performance, wasn't trying to say the other vid was a ripoff or anything
I'd say the source of that joke is the dumb record exec that realised that awful chord progression sells like fucking things that sell in high quantities.
I couldn't form an accurate parallel.

it's nothing heinous like denis leary ripping off bill hicks
yeah TGM 12 bar is like the universal jam structure and there's nothing wrong with it, it's just so predictable that I wanted to avoid it at all costs
basically the whole of 1950s music was either that or the other chord progression, the ballad one
that's why music in the 50s sucked, except for blues, which thrived
the enchantment under the sea dance from back to the future gives you all the chords you need to write 90% of 50s pop!
