This is the last weekend before I have to go back to college. :(
And I have to be in first thing for a stupid tutorial and my first lesson isn't until 2! But since I haven't left the house all week, it'd be good to get some socialising in.
I personally don't follow any religion (agnostic) but I do think Christianity promotes a health lifestyle.
Depends on what you read in to it though. There isn't any officially right way to interpret the bible if you are a christian, so it can lead to both good and bad (and probably most of the time neither).

Terrible. Watched the final of a Starleague in Starcraft (1) this morning, wrong person won so I've been sad.
You know the ol' phrase; Knowing is half the battle. It's one thing to know the Bible, it's another thing to understand it. Like listening to what's being said and hearing what is being said. Call them "stories" if you want to, but they're history and the people it talks about are human and humans are not perfect. If something in it seems wrong or evil - you have to discern if it is for a purpose... such as justice. Or perhaps it is a lesson or example of what not to do. I'm sure I could go on and on, but I'll not bother since I know it's a '' topic to a lot of you.
I do consider myself a Christian, not a perfect one. Only God is Perfect. And I'll admit I haven't read all of the Bible. But I can recall a time when I did read a lot of the New Testament, and passages where Jesus was speaking. And I, personally, felt like I had a deeper understanding and more empathy towards other people. Probably because I had an open heart to what I read....

This isn't my official weekend yet. I get Sunday and Monday nights off from work. But as for a Saturday... I can't complain. I had a weird dream that ended in this rather nice song that I can't say I've ever heard before. Something about 'Don't miss out on your Joy, because you never know when you'll meet again'.... When I woke up I kept trying to recall all of it, but there was a lot that I couldn't. But I was able to pick out some of the notes on my guitar and write down. Perhaps I'll have to work on that someday.
What we know and experience as this "reality" is all an illusion anyway. Everything is connected in some way, and we are blind to what is really there... and for a very good reason. I don't think we, or most of us could handle it.
If people truly believe that the bible is the word of god, then why dont they see the folly in cherry-picking which parts to take literally and which parts to rationalize/change the meaning so that it fits their lives better? Everyone is so shocked by Westboro Baptist church for their hate-spewing 'radical' views, but the truth is that they are actually following the bible closer than any other sect. It is a violent, intolerant, and bloody book in which god demands the deaths of millions for seemingly petty reasons. At what point do people just throw it to the side and say 'This is total baloney.' I think most people who call themselves christians have never even read that book, because when you point out all of the horrible things in it they dont even believe you that its in there at all.
there are a few theories that make a lot of sense. it's just you know, difficult to prove any of them.
They still have to figure out how and why pretty much everything was where it was, then exploded. Exploded in a good way, at least, and then where the fuck it all went. Apparently we're missing some.

Most of them do. But don't tell anyone, that's a secret.
Also shut up we've done this a million times before and it is always stupid.
The beginning of the universe doesn't make sense (yet), period.
Much as this stuff interests me I'm not convinced that we'll ever really make sense out of it. Shit's crazy.
I don't mean "yet" as we will definitely know sometime in the future, just as in there is a possibility that we might. I'm not convinced either, it just seems so far beyond what our minds are capable of comprehending. Like quantum physics theory, which no one can really comprehend even though we can actually observe it and make calculations based upon it.

You mean like for example how there is energy even in complete vacuum, and that at the beginning of time matter could spontaneously come into existence because of this? That's a really good one, and might very well be true, but it still doesn't make sense why there would be energy to begin with, before time and all that. First heard that from this lecture (or whatever you wan to call it), some really amazing stuff in there.
I do believe we as humans do have the potential to see things beyond what we experience in this physical realm. That is what I meant by an illusion, for, as we are now, we can't experience all that is truly there. That doesn't necessarily make "reality" unreal. I also believe God made us that way -- or made it possible, but we are kept from being able to do that... or have had that ability taken away from us. Why? I don't know. All I know is that if we can't do it then there must be a good reason why.
