I've been pretty careful about spoilers over these last few months when it comes to Other M. I've been avoiding many threads altogether and choosing not to watch many of the vids. I started to read the instruction booklet and there were instant spoilers there, which kinda pissed me off. So I'm playing it without reading the instructions, just paying attention to the tutorials and such. I'm not very far into the game at all, and so far I find the story retarded. The gameplay is growing on me, I'm sure that I'll appreciate it more as I become more proficient. Visually the game is awesome.
I don't even understand WHY there's instruction manuals for videos games still. Back then there wasn't tutorial levels, so you had to learn from the instruction manual (or just press the buttons) but now every single game ever has a tutorial level that tells you EVERYTHING you need to know.
Some of like to know the full story going in. We like to have a grasp of setup before we begin. For some, it's nothing more than part of buying a game. See what the box is like, screenshots, manual, et cetera.
The only games I recall reading the instruction manual AFTER playing the game is Monster Hunter, Oblivion, and Neverwinter Nights.
The artwork is usually pretty in the instruction manuals (more like booklets since they tend to be so small, except for Neverwinter Nights). But I'd rather have the image on my computer rather than in a book.
