My school did things like that a couple times, too. One year they gave me a 0 period (like your 1st period classes, looks like) class that I hadn't singed up for and I hadn't singed up for a class listed near that one when I picked my classes. It was my sister's class. Then they had the nerve to get mad a t me for not showing up for it and going home early for a few days because the people in charge of fixing schedule issues were too busy doing dumb things. High school employees are pretty universally awful.

Pretty great that they even included that one period gap, no idea how you fuck that up.

schedules have to be adjusted to teacher availabilities. Since no teacher can be everywhere at any time, schedules tend to get screwed up like that

did you marry quietus?
LOL no, I'm just menstruating and feel like Poision's post was the perfect ironic point/counterpoint argument when considering that most of the world doesn't have access to education, let alone a guaranteed one of relative quality.

Rofl, I was pretty pissed off at the time, mehhh :P

In my defense though, in one of the packet things they made me fill out, in the first paragraph they have two spelling mistakes, and a grammar mistake. Oh, and this packet was for college.

Scary, isn't it?
I just said that because you used a quiteus(tm) smily
Oh, I guess I thought you were saying that because I was being a cunt, and that you thought Quietus was a cunt, too.

Oh did I mention there is literally no way for me to make it to my first period class, if I do get one? Since we live in the forest now there's no buses, and I can't ride my bike down this road every morning (lots of traffic on a narrow windy road + corners = bad for bicycles). My mom could drive me every morning, but that would mean for her to get up way early, drive me all the way to school, get back home, pick up my sisters, drive them to their (separate) schools, then get back home to start working. It's a lot of stress that I really don't want to put on her.

But anyhow, worse comes to worse I'll drop Year Book and maybe take an off-campus class.

just talk to the teacher. you're in a grade where coming to late with good reasons shouldn't be much of a problem

Yeah my mom decided to talk to them about it, which will be nice since I won't have to get involved, and they'll listen to her more than they would listen to me.

EDIT: like last year when they gave me two of the same science classes, and I told them about it before school started and they said they would fix it. School comes around, I talk to them, and they say to just go to each class while they "fix it". All that week they did nothing about it until finally my mom called in and they simply removed me from one of the classes.

It might sound like I hate my school, but I really don't. I just think the people that set up the classes and generally run the school are morons. The school itself is awesome, really cool people and cool teachers. This might sound kind of sissy but I've never seen any real bullying (the occasional calling someone a faggot or queer) and the only violence I've seen was once in my freshmen year, once in my sophomore, and once in my junior. Each time it was between two guys who were in an argument and it just escalated.

All in all it's pretty chill. 7/9 kids are stoners so I guess you can't expect much.

What are you, a fucking Kokiri?  Just play Epona's song to get to school (or the song of soaring if you have it)

You have no idea how much I wished I have a magical ocarina to slow down time in Middle-school so I could sleep in more. I remember the alarm clock going off and I would hum the tune in my head somehow thinking it would work... or something.
Your school only has 6 periods? Lucky...

I always wonder if most adults find little kids or teenagers more tolerable?

Well, kinda. Here's my what-were-they-thinking school's set up:

Monday is called a "Long Even" day. Long meaning that its a full day, and Even meaning you have all your even periods. (You have period 1 every day from 7:30-8:30 regardless of what day it is)

Tuesday is called a "Long Odd" day. Same as monday, only with your Odd periods instead of your Even.

Wednesday is a "Short all" day. You have all your periods, but you get out at 12:30 (assuming you have all 7 periods).

Thursday is Long Even

Friday is Long Odd

However, so if I have a P1, P2, P3, P4, and P6, that means on Long Even days I go from 7:30 to 3:00 (P1-P2-P4-P6). BUT, on Long Odd days, I go from 7:30 to 10:20 (P1-P3).

i'm a ~legal adult~ and i find most young kids soooo irritating. can't stand them running around making noise. teenagers can at least stand still and be quiet for longer than thirty seconds.

that said, i used to babysit some really well-behaved kids, so i guess it depends on the individual kid/parenting skills.

@ poision wow that is confusing. my high school didn't have anything like that. probably because we live in a little hick town with tiny schools...
i think nathan's high school had something like that though...

That's weird. My school just goes through 7 45-minute periods + lunch and homeroom from 7:50 to 2:15 on all days.

re-reading your post, i actually really like that. getting out so early three days a week would rock.

LOL that would be cool to play the inverted song of time when you want to sleep in and play the song of double time to move to the end of the school day. Play the elegy of emptiness to create a soulless shell to occupy your desk while you go ditch class.

As far as what's more irritating - teens or little kids - I'm not sure.  Each are so different as individuals that it's hard to have a blanket opinion.  I kinda feel sorry for teens, though.  They have no place in society.  Adults usually don't want them around.  They aren't quite old enough to be independent and not young enough to be absolved of accountability or expectations.  It's like they're in limbo.

in general i can't really stand kids. very rarely though i'll talk to one and they'll say something brilliant and impress me.

almost everyone at my high school had four 90-minute periods plus lunch. i've continued that trend by only ever taking four classes at once at university.

speaking of which, here's what my schedule looks like for my last semester of undergrad:

I had a huge hedge/vines or whatever growing around part of my fence.  Cut ALL, okay, a LOT of it down, now I've found 2 ticks crawling around on me (or maybe just 1 that I picked off, lost and maybe it crawled back on me).

I asked in another forum (where people are posting about classes), if they ever have dreams about being in school, it's the morning of the first day before classes start and you don't have your schedule, maybe it's in your locker...  on the other side of the building.  You go there, but wait...  Which locker number is it?  Oh well, I have some books, maybe I'll go into this room.  Everybody seems to know me so I must be in the right place.  But what am I supposed to do here?  Surprised
