At least points happen. And there is typically a progression towards a goal as opposed to kicking the ball back and forth for 90 minutes only for the game to end in a thrilling 1-1 score! The absurd flopping to the turf when passing with a foot of another player can only entertain for so long. Baseball, I don't even know what the fuck, nothing ever happens.
American Football is... Stop'n'Go. For I don't even know how long. Walk 3 yards, stop the game for I have no idea whatever reason (the rules are... strange) then we have another 3 seconds of excitement... after which people will have walked another 3 yards and the game is stopped again. Or something along those lines. Almost like a traffic light gone haywire.

Well, that's bullshit judgment. You're supposed enjoy seeing what's happening in a game, not the result. Who cares what the score is? You can take at most 10 seconds to look that up, and you would still miss all the excitement of watching the game. The fun lies with watching the players putting forth the effort to make effective plays, and the other team's response. And I agree with Kharay, football is just red light, green light + tackling.

I can at least stand football during the superbowl, because the commercials are usually funny. I remember one time my dad was watching football, and he went to go to the bathroom or something so I started going through the channels and I came across G4 (I think?) and there was some Counter Strike tournament going on, and I made him watch that instead.

It was probably an episode of Arena. They held Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, and SOCOM tourneys all the time.
G4 was so good back in the day... Too bad it merged with Tech TV, and ended being under Neil Tiles' control. He fucked that channel over so badly.

Red light, green light is awesome. Professional red light green light is extra awesome.

i'm with idkbutlike2 here ... team sports wise i tend to like those with more or less constant action. volleyball and basketball ftw.

For the record, there are like a million things happening at any given time in any given football play and it's really interesting when you know what to look for. The down time is pretty lol though, yeah, I recall reading an article where someone timed the actual game time during a game and it came out to 2 or 3 minutes of actual playtime which was funny as hell to me as some one who really enjoys the sport. I though there'd be more downtime honestly.

In fairness there is actually action in those sports, Baseball and Soccer have no such thing. I've been to a couple Baseball games and the only thing I could tell you about is the food.

i enjoy watching soccer but i don't really get into it. basically the appeal to me is the extraordinary athleticism. some very talented players out there.

When I was a young kid I wanted to get into soccer...  I also liked ice hockey.  Perhaps I was weird (compared to most other kids...  yeah, I was). Razz  I was on a basketball team in 5th grade.  That didn't pan out at all.  I do like to play basketball more than watch it.  Other than that...  I'm just not a "sports" kind of dude. Confused

edit: I do remember liking the Rams when I was a kid in the 80's, now they're my home team. Cool

The last sport I watched on T.V. that made me literally cheer was a head to head rally course race.  I say 'head to head' because there were 2 tracks -mirroring each other, so I'm not sure what the exact/appropriate term would be. Embarassed

Boxing is the only sport worth watching.

mmm sweaty men wearing nothing but some shiny boxers grabbing and cuddling with eachother, and the victor is the person who pins the other down first.

Boxing is interesting.  First the guys shake hands, then turn around waiting for the gong just to turn around once again and start punching each other in the face. :)

If you really like boxing, maybe you should check out K-1.

I don't go out of my way to follow boxing, but when it's on TV I'll watch it and, usually, enjoy it. Also, the Rocky GC game was awesome.

Oh boy can't wait for some retards on my street to start shooting off fireworks even more than usual! Maybe they'll finally succeed in burning their houses down!

That is REALLY weird, my Pandora station JUST played that song for the first time, then I come here and you posted it.

Oh and there's a parade going down my town's main street (that I live right off of). I'm supposed to have 3 friends come over so we can walk around at night when the fireworks are going off (kind of a tradition), but I think they are stuck in the parade traffic.

i love fireworks. one of the cooler things humans have invented.

in a few minutes my mom and i are going to walk to the neighborhood beside ours to watch all the rednecks out in the street shooting them off, the cops coming to tell them to stop, them not stopping, etc. hella fun.
