Nintendo, you sly dogs. Pretending like the casuals were your favorite market of gamers, then as soon as Sony and M$ copy you at E3, you jump ship and start appealing to the hardcore gamers again. Now Nintendo is picking up the people Sony/M$ abandoned, and the 'casuals' will keep following Nintendo since that's the only company they know.
i actually read that a long time ago ... decent, but not anything surprising really. also not surprising is what nintendo's doing atm. proves they're still the smartest game company around.
I've been reading bits and pieces of it and it does sound exactly like Nintendo right now, especially after this year's E3 and the wave of games they announced that not only appeal to longtime gamers' memories and nostalgia, but look like they are also designed to bring in those newer gamers who are looking for something more. The tier thing is kinda interesting since I hadn't thought of games like that specifically, but there is a lot of truth behind that formula as far as both production values and the kind of people who are interested in playing them are concerned. And right now those same games I mentioned are the next in line (for the most part) on that tier list which is exactly what Nintendo should be aiming for at this point in time.
