yeah it's basic cable, but the thing is that there's some huge shows on basic cable now too
I must say I don't think I'd heard of TNT whereas I know fox and CNN and so on

so those are the ones that get all the coverage

yeah fox and nbc and the like are network channels so anything on there will get tons of media coverage too

man netflix is totally the future
Club 27 Goals
like maybe not specifically their service, but just that setup
I still really dislike the idea that you don't own content any more
red chamber dream
yep, but i think it's going to take awhile still

the networks are hanging on like there's no tomorrow ... because for them there's not

you know what would be really sweet? if hollywood would just make a steam version for movies.
red chamber dream
grenola i don't think that's true really
Club 27 Goals
you buy it, it's added to your digital library, etc
red chamber dream
for me sometimes that's exactly what i want though, really depends on the series

like mad men is the sort of thing i want on bluray, but i watched all of the last airbender on amazon instant video which was great

what's starting to happen now is content providers like hbo want to break away from cable providers but can't atm
Club 27 Goals
oh haha my mom deactivated my phone. I thought it was just acting up. made it a total bitch meeting up with my friends earlier, but oh well.
red chamber dream
like right now if you want hbo, you have to have a cable package

they have their streaming service, but it's not something you can buy just on its own, so it's kind of lame
yeah I see what you're saying, I guess anything like that that empowers content producers is kind of good
although ultimately you're likely just exchanging one fat cat for another
red chamber dream
once all the content providers just decide to dump the networks, things are going to be much better

it may be apple actually who does it, just like they did with music
red chamber dream
if they release a tv with a great interface and give producers a place to sell channels directly, people will go for that like crazy

I worry about apple
red chamber dream
rather than paying $150/month for 900 channels ... lol
wow, 150 is a lot
red chamber dream
it's internet too, but yeah i mean even a basic cable package is like 50/month or something
