I'm fairly sure it just relates to the eyes. At the time it was 'introduced', it probably went along with everything else, which was primarily aimed at the way they looked. Perhaps it was the next, lazy step after "slanty-eyed..."?
I've been sitting on the sidelines a bit here watching everyone's reactions to TailsLover's posts, and I have to say that he reminds me so much of me at a younger age that it's almost scary.
TailsLover, I think what everyone is asking of you is to just pack a bit more substance into your posts. This forum is much more intelligent than a lot of internet gaming communities out there *cough cough gamefaqs cough cough*, so people are probably going to be a bit more picky about post quality. Posting things about your personal life in the social topic is fine; that's what it's there for. But just try to say all of what you want to say in one post, rather than making multiple cryptic posts leaving everyone wondering what it is you're trying to say.
And trust me, you're not alone here in being criticized about posting on an internet forum. You should see some of the shit I did a couple years ago, particularly around Christmas time. Check the Festivus 2007 (was it 2007? I forget) thread if you're curious; you'll know what I mean when you see it. ;)

It is an acronym for Silly Little Opium Peddling Easterner.
TailsLover, either post what the fucking problem is so we can comment on it or shut the fuck up. Just saying you have a problem does nothing for anybody.
This is seriously your last warning. One more shit post and you are out.

Different forums have different penalties and punishments. And some I've been banned from in the past have been like a week long ban, some have a 3rd strike (offense) and you were out for good.

a Ban means that you are never wanted back.
Hmm... Not even a probation period.
TailsLover better learn the art of longwindedness and quick. Just make up junk, sprinkled with redundant/pointless info. We'll never know.

It's is windy and raining here and has been like that most of the day. And the best part [/sarcasm]... I just know the new girl at work will have been very busy checking in people wanting to get out form the rain. Even better will be the cash customers she will have checked in, who have additional fees she failed to collect.... But that's the least of my problems at work. My other co-worker is possibly trying to make passes at me (saying stuff), or she's just messing with me because she knows of another girl that used to work there that (used to?) like me... a LOT! And she (my co-worker) is married. I try to avoid her anyway.
People don't really get banned that often. If they do, it's because an admin has told them, repeatedly, to stop breaking the rules, and they've ignored 'em.
Probation was stupid. It didn't really mean anything, and it didn't really help anything. And it was a bitch to keep track of. Warnings serve basically the same function without all the complexity.
Or because they feel like it. Not that your guys are bad or anything. I just always feel like that whenever i talk to a staff person they get a reason to ban me and give the usual "broke the rules" or "he's gone now drop it". I don't trust someone with that much power. Not ever myself. That's why i don't last long as a staff member on forums.
Also your pm and email account (or twitter in tails case) gets FFFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIILLLLLLLEEEEDDDD with complaints. About stupid stuff to. One was about a person who was offended by another user who was arguing and pulled the good old fashion 5th grade comeback, i know you are. :/
Slagheads.

How do you remember all the warnings then. Because with Tails i would've lost count. :(
Somehow it seems to work out that I only have one idjit at a time to deal with. Probably because I basically ignore every Metroid-specific subforum and miss out on tons of other idjits that would otherwise distract me from my current idjit.
Perhaps Tailses' grampa walked in on him while he was surfing for scantily clad damsels. He said he wouldn't say anything, but he apparently did after everyone else got to snickering behind his back afterwards.
See what happens when you don't tell us. That gives anyone a free license to speculate.
Other possibilities; had something to do with the "hot date" he had for the homecoming dance. Ah, girl troubles. Well, at least you have a girl. Wait! You didn't get her pregnant, did you?
j/k
ETA: Don't feel obligated to respond to this since I'm just joshing ya TailsLover. And I wouldn't risk it especially if it would only require a simple one-liner answer that would clear it up. Some of your posts are just answering questions. IMHSO- I don't think you should be punished for that. You're not the only that has done something like that in this topic. In fact, there have been others that have said less than you have in some posts.
I got to thinking about it and your continuous simple posts must come across as spam. Especially when they just start in about some random/boring thing. So, I hope you do get a break and are allowed to answer a question once in a while... I'd just think before you post; "Is this something someone could look at and say 'Whoopty Freaking Do'...?" If it does then you should resist posting it. Or try to get creative and add more content.
It also might be a good idea to have more than one forum/message board to troll post in. That way you can take a break from one and.... do yer thang at the other place for a while. Expand your territory.... Just don't mark it with spammy posts.
I don't see a problem with the banning system here. Everybody makes crappy posts now and again. Repeatedly making crappy posts despite regular (almost daily for some) warnings from the admins and mods is just stupid. If somebody registers, and makes a crappy post, and is told "Please try to have more content in your posts. We try to promote (slightly) intelligent discussion, and this isn't Twitter", but they choose to ignore it, then the fault lies entirely with them.
It's probably going to kill me with all the closing i'm doing on Monday and Tuesday, but i have off on Saturday. Meaning i didn't waste all of that money.

Well, I guess I don't have to much of a problem with that type of 'do or die' brand of bannishment (hu-hu brandishment? ). And it seems to me you'd weed out the ones that may be well intentioned, yet inexperienced with netiquette and how to conduct themselves (i.e. TailsLover). But with blatant rule breakers I can see it's worth... Also with stupid people. The sooner they get tossed outta here the sooner they can get back to their village.
I do think TailsLover just has personal issues. Like him being picked on at school or whatever (I'm sure I recall him saying that somewhere). And this place is probably another way for him to escape reality.
The way I understand it is: if someone is banned they're not to return ever again? Even if they mature as a (forum user) later?
Once when I was a kid I mistakenly took some batteries from a hardware store. I had no idea of the concept of buying with money. I was probably about 4 years old. My mother seen I had them and asked me about it, then took them back in. Boy, ha-ha. Am I sure glad they didn't cut my little hands off with a chainsaw.
Edit: I know, I know. TL has been warned repeatedly. I've done it myself (when I was an internet newbie) and I've seen others do it. Get down to the last warning and you'd be surprised how quickly people shape up .
Or just give up and move on to someplace else since they don't feel welcomed.
I find it interesting that you are so completely on this kid's side, and that you haven't just PMed him or anything, you've felt the need to publicly announce your sympathies so that he knows someone's rooting for him.
It also seems like you're missing the point a little. We don't begrudge him discussing any life issues, or how he's feeling (althought this probably isn't the best place), but the fact remains that posts like "my life sucks" and "Good morning" just don't bring anything whatsoever to the discussion. TailsLover in particular, despite the recent change, seems like a fairly chirpy individual, who would most likely be welcomed here, if he just added some substance to his posts. All he's been asked to do is stop posting Twitter-like comments (like "Good morning"), and ensure that his posts have actual content, and he'll be off the hit list.
