Wet dreams extended version!

Some major changes where made to make the hack wide open from the start. There is a lot you can do here, and there are many many ways you can go to get to the end.

Yes the escape timer is glitched. And yes you can get into tourian.

Some more screens I guess:

Yes, it's worth playing this version even if you played the other one before due to the major changes.
One thing to note though is that this one is a bit more on the hard side... though I think most people will welcome that change... if not the please say so!

Its a hack based on water rooms. Which saddens me that not all of the rooms were wet. ;_;
It was really fun though.

Time bomb set get out fast!

I look forward to trying this out. Well, it would probably be more accurate to say I look forward to the parts after Gravity Suit; until then it's likely to be somewhat frustrating. But water without grav has good puzzle potential, and it's not quite as big a pain as wall-jump-morphing and bomb tricks. If water in Metroid is a harsh mistress, IBJ is a dominatrix.

Personally, I'd have chosen a less embarrassing name ("Guys, guys, I just got through a Metroid Wet Dream!" *everyone backs away*), but that's just me.

You'll be plesently suprised at the pre-gravity suit rooms!
This hack does well for a Half-hack. I haven't had this much fun with a half hack in awhile.
I don't want to go so far as to say its the best half hack I've ever played, buts its pretty damn close.

I started this yesterday, I'm about halfway through. I like the appearance, but I'm not a fan of the physics and path. It's very slow going, but jumping around in water is a little fun. So far item collection hasn't been terribly different, or enough so to really impact the path. I think I'm about to hit a a fairly large difference:

Finished kraid, phantoon, croc and can't get into maridia. Going to try lower norfair later, assuming gravity is there

2:11, 80%.

I ended up with the route I put above, made the last part of the game easy. I liked the reward for Ridley, fighting him without it was more fun than usual even though I was way over powered. For a little half-hack it was pretty fun, I just thought the item collection was mostly like vanilla. Tasteful palette changes in my opinion, good stuff.

It's indeed a fun little half-hack, even if, in some ways, very little is changed. I'm surprised we're not seeing more half-hacks with physics changes. It's like a new way to play Vanilla. I tried to go the Xaggoth route but I had too much trouble with GT so I did Maridia first. There were a couple mid-air morph jumps in tight spots where I had to use slowdown, otherwise I had no problems.

I do have one question:

Is Ice Beam in the game? If so, where? Is 100% the max?

And yes there are some hard midair morphs underwater (3 tiles high) that you have to do in maridia.

So.... did anyone do the heat underwater run with out varia? :3

Ice beam is not in the game. As for max %... let's just say you can get as high % as you have patience. laugh new

Not if you have springball. Also, you can ibj underwater, so you're never forced to do a hard midair morph if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think I entered any heated rooms without varia.

Actually, you can. You have to already be in the air at the peak of a springball jump/midair morph and then spam bombs. You'll rise incredibly slowly, but it works.

I've been holding down my turbo button and laying bombs while fast forwarding. Spring ball has not been been required so far. Is that cheating ?

GT without charge kicked my ass, but ended up kissing it. CH got me prepared for that fight. Tourian without ice was strange. Can't wait for Ice Metal.

That missile is a fake, there is another pack hidden though if you were wondering where the plm went.

I don't understand why people think fighting gt without charge is more difficult, it just makes you wait for sm drops, and you can roll on the floor forever until he shoots balls.

It's more difficult because with charge it's so easy you don't even take any damage at all. Just stand in the safe zone and shoot.

i was playing the extended version and got all the way down to norfair and went into the top left room in the norfair elevator shaft when this happened... (im pretty sure im using a clean rom ive seen no errors previous to this)
