Without looking too far into it, I assume you just took a screenshot of the gameplay previews that run from the title screen.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Bingo!  The demos are easily overlooked, so I was hoping this would stump people.  Good job.

I like watching the demos in a hack to see how badly they get screwed up (since they're not prerecorded like FMV, but played in the game engine like Prime's cutscenes).  One of the demos starts with Samus already under the floor in this room, so it doesn't matter that you can't get through anymore in Gravy.  And the Dachora is still down there waiting patiently.

For extra fun, watch the same scene in Soup.  Turns out Cardweaver didn't remove those super-Skrees, he just relocated them...
Quote from Cardweaver:
Also, I'd advise not going throught the acid to Maridia. It used tot house the Springball, but now its a dead end. The acid is to deter. The noob tube is the way to go.

I actually made it into maridia going that way trying to figure out how to get the gravety suit... it was brutal and took two crystal flashes (both in acid), plus a lot of careful jumping...

actually, then I went all the way to Draygon, killed him, and said, "Man, I sure hope I get the gravety suit now!" And then... sadness.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Have you performed any of the usualchecks?

Check that you have the correct ROM. "Super Metroid (JU) [!]"
Check whether it is unheadered (3,072KB) or headered (3,073KB), and check which this hack requires.  I believe it's unheadered.
Tried a different emulator.  Some hacks do not like certain versions of certain emulators.
Time bomb set get out fast!

So yep, still working on the Gravy speedrun.  I was held up for a long time by the loss of my PSP, which I used both for practice and as a gamepad.  It fell victim early this year to an unbalanced glass of water.  But now I have a new one, so the Gravy train is back on the rails!

Admit it, you couldn't have resisted that joke either.

I've made some major improvements to my route.  I think a time attack following this route could probably break an hour, especially given the ability to cook the refills.  (But so far the TAS crowd has only been interested in doing Gravy with pause abuse.)  I won't spoil the details, but suffice to say that one of the major timesavers is skipping an item I thought I couldn't do without, and the other involves picking up more items so I can take a key shortcut.
I'm very excited to hear that you're speedrunning this.
Best of luck!
Hey Cardweaver, a couple of things...  First of all, I'm loving this hack so far.  Its just the right amount of difficulty without pulling my hair out.  Secondly, and this may have been mentioned already, but I noticed that it is possible to get stuck without a way out in the spring ball room.  Even though this hack has been around for a while I guess I'll still spoiler this..
I'm assuming that it was intended to us crystal flash to exit this room judging by the invisible spike and the fact that there is no other way out from what I've seen.  But if you happen to wander down into that area without the right amount of PBs or SMs then you could get stuck in there

I can't get the spazer i think you have to super short charge which i can't doQuestionQuestion
Edit: found it out
Time bomb set get out fast!
Peteza: Yes, that's how you get out. It was discussed on earlier pages. There's another area that can only be exited by CF, but that one at least has enemies in it.

XkillKDCX: Glad you figured it out. Fair warning -- if you go to visit the Etecoons, you will have to perform a short-charge to escape.

LOVE ORIGINAL GAMES

AWESOME HACK!

can anyone send me a working version of this on my email? i would really appreciate it. ive tried like 10 different roms unheadered
I must be realy late but can someone spoil how to get x-ray?
Time bomb set get out fast!
Refer to this Cardweaver post. There are two ways: one intended, one not. His hint should be enough for the intended way. The unintended way (which is how I got in) is sort of a glitch; to find it, first guess what room X-ray is in (not hard), then look around nearby for an unusual bit of room layout -- some placement that's never found in the original game. Play around in that spot and you'll trip over the glitch.

Get as close as you can to the turtle room. What you're looking for is a one-block floor that's too close to a door in the ceiling. (The original game gave doors lots of space, and now we know why.) If you fall through that door at full speed, it'll kick you out inside the floor and you'll drop right through.

However you get in, remember this: you can't get out without Crystal Flash. There are enemies down there to deal the necessary damage, but load up on ammo in advance; you don't want to be stuck refilling.
