can this work with lunar ips?

Isn't that the only IPS tool known to man? (In other words, yes.)
ϟ
well for some werid reason, my ips doesnt recognize this file as an ips file automatically Question
If you're using snes9x or zsnes, you don't need to patch. Just have both rom and ips a same file name in a same folder or desktop and it will run it automatically. This is what we call "softpatch".
Time bomb set get out fast!
KeenenBell, it sounds like Lunar IPS isn't associated with .ips files on your machine.  Try reinstalling it.  If that doesn't help, just start Lunar IPS on its own and then load the patch.
Try double clicking on the .ips file itself and see if windows asks you to associate lunar ips with that type of file.

Or, in case you do what opium says, but it opens with another program, right-click and select 'Open with...', which'll take you to the same screen, where you can select or browse to LunarIPS.  You should then be set.
I tried this and dependance but everytime i play it the thing that looks like nintendo logo is all glitchy with yellow, red, and orange.

same thing with the main title and everytime i start a new game it says the last metroid is in captivity then it crashes....

I tried with super metroid e and ju same thing
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
If memory serves me correctly, GD was made for unheadered roms

Also, hacks created in SMILE are not, nor will they ever be, compatible with the E (PAL) ROM, since SMILE only reads the NTSC (JU) version of the ROM

Throw that copy away and get an unheadered JU rom and use GD on that. Google is your friend

ookk..
when im doing this, could i get an example as to what i should name the files?
the IPS patch is named
Super Metroid - Golden Dawnv2.66.ips

the rom...
Super Metroid (JU) [!].smc

what changes should i make?
and how can i tell if the ROM is unheadered?
What'd you say?
Size 3,073 is headered, 3,072 is unheadered.

When you rename for soft patch, if the patch's name is "Super Metroid - Golden Dawnv2.66.ips" then you name it as "Super Metroid - Golden Dawnv2.66.smc". You can name it anything as long it match between smc and ips.

It can be used as a back way into Norfair (I use it in my TAS) but you should probably look for the "normal" way into Norfair if you don't want to abuse slowdown/savestates to make it through.

And by "Norfair", I mean UnderWarld >_>

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Just open the ROM in SMILE, and click on Tools > Header > Add / Remove.  Done.
Hoandizi, a great TASer from YouTube, recently finished an amazing any% run of Golden Dawn.

The route looks very clean, and the tricks used there are one of the best and most creative I have seen in a while.

Really noteworthy work.

I was just thinking like "Man I love those TASes made of Super Metroid hacks, sure would be cool to watch one right now"! Maybe I'll get myself a bag of snacks and lay back. :D

Great run, didn't think GD could be beaten in under :45.
That was INSANE.  That guy takes precision to a new level.  I wonder how long it took him to do this.
Wow, very awesome TAS. I've been working on one of this game in the background for a while, and I've got to say his looks better quality. However, I believe there were some pretty big mistakes in the route choice. I think :31 is possible, but we'll see how it goes.

I wasn't sure about this myself.  I was certain that ther were instances where the usual tactics weren't employed.  I remember within the first few seconds on Zebes there was a section where he was running without arm pumping for example.

Most of the rest looked fairly well optimised, and it seemed bizarre that it was marred by that. Eh?
I don't think he skipped the arm pumping. It's just that his encoding doesn't handle flicker properly (you'll note times when he's on elevators and either completely disappears, or is perfectly solid, for example). Thus anything that happens at 30Hz looks wrong.

If I recall correctly, YouTube will automatically re-encode at 30FPS if you provide a file that's encoded at more than that, and the way to get a proper-looking video is to encode at 29FPS or something like that.
