I know that it's impossible to do, but can anyone tell me WHY it's impossible?  I don't feel like trying myself so if anyone who has tried it, can you tell me why you can't do it?  Thanks.

There is a spot somewhere (not sure where) that you need to get through, and if you don't have power grip, it is covered by one of those orbs that gets eaten by bugs (like the ones around the Varia Suit), and there aren't any bugs for it. At least, I think that was it. I've never tried to skip power grip.

Yeah.  The first huge room in Norfair has an unpassable hive in it until you get the Power Grip.

That Codebreaker code should remove the plant in Norfair. Save the game once then remove the code near the beginning, or you'll screw up various Chozo statues throughout the game.

There's no problem in making the bosses disappear or getting all guns, but the enemy one would take some work.

Moon Jump codes > any code that gives you invincibility, all items, ect.

The event to get rid of the plant is to get the power grip. (I know a speed trick here, after you get the PG, you just IWJ up the left wall until the top, and keep jumping til the platforms appear, then get on the top one, and get out)

I've HBJ'd across the pit, gone to my ship, and gone back to the plant, but it was still there.

Unless there are some bugs around norfair, the PG is unskippable.
