Skipping Items

Iv figured out you can skip a few items in the game you dont need, although they do help. Wave beam and beat the game, and my new challange is to skip the long beam, sounds imposible? Try it on hard mode Laughing

Also the Hi-jump isn't needed but as always, helps out. not sure if this effects the outrun on your % but it saves hardly any time.

skip ice beam?

please explain.

i'd love to hear this.

skipping long beam, charge beam, screw attack, wave beam, super missiles, power bombs and every energy tank, yeah, thats something we know about, i've done the majority of it myself.

but, skipping ice beam? please, do explain.

do the ridley before kraid trick as shown in a movie in metroid2002.com then go get all the items you can in brinstar:

Hi-jump,screw attack,wave beam, ice beam.

Only when you get to the ice beam, room, just simply dont get it and proceed below the statue as normal. when you get to the room with the 3 turtals flying around, I found it easy to use an inf. wall jump trick to clim up the right side wall and move on to the next room. then whe nyou ge to the lava room, use a missile to kill the flying things, andwalljump or inf. bomb jump up. then proceed the game as normal. I found it funny to skip the ice beam and then get the wave beam, 2 reasons.

1) the wave beam is blue
2) it makes a funnier sound when you charge it.

oh, no, skipping ice beam isn't hard.

how do you beat the game without it?
thats the question.

Theres a VERY important part of the game that you can only beat with ice beam, i would love to hear a way around it.

My bad about the ice beam, but you can still skip the wave beam.

You can skip pretty much everything, considering 9% is the lowest. All you need is:

Morph Ball
Bombs
Power Grip
Unknown Items (X3)
Ice Beam
Missiles (X1)
Varia Suit
