This is small, but in my opinion, this would be a nice thing to do.

Give hacks and projects relating to Metroid their own board, and not just spread all over this site and part of a Child Board.

There would be some good things to come out of this.

Hacks would get more publicity, meaning that more people will have the chance to play something someone else made, such as Metroid SR388, or Super Metroid Cliffhanger, or Super Metroid Aegis.

They wouldn't be spread out. There are many hacks for different Metroid games, and projects relating to different Metroid games, it would not only benefit the creator, but it would benefit the person who is interested in playing it.

Why? Because the hacks for Super Metroid, a child board, have more topics than both Metroid I&II combined, so doesn't it deserve to be granted another board?

Just a suggestion of mine. Thanks for reading  :)
Thread title:
child board is the same thing as a regular board isn't it? just a cosmetic difference. and i wasn't aware there were nearly as many hacks for games other than super metroid. but i've gone ahead and made the change. can reply here with links to topics that need to be moved to the new forum.

Wow, that was fast  Shocked

My heart skipped a beat when I saw that "Hacks" thing on the bottom.

But, the Child Board is limited to Super Metroid, so...

Hated by all
I thought it would be Hacks and Fan Games, since some fan games don't involve ROM hacking.
All aboard the soul train
It includes that, too. "Projects."
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Eh, I always felt that fan games would fit in the Arts board, or at the very least General Metroid.

This is good. It means I can ignore just one collective board, instead of ignoring random topics in random boards.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That's kind of the problem I see with it, the people who didn't care in the first place aren't going to suddenly care about it now that it's "legitimate" they just not care about it some more. I could see this being worse for people who make fan games because some people might not care about one of the millions of SM hacks but might be interested in a fan game and I'm almost certain that that board will be at least 90% SM hacks while other things just get buried a couple pages back.

It seems like it'll just be SM Hacks under a new name, there are four ZM hacks one RoS remake and the SR388 fan game compared to how many SM hacks? I think it would be more worth while if more people made hacks for the other games as it stands, I don't see much use of it aside from the SM Hacks regulars.

Acclaimed Threshold
Constant Sorrows
While I'm greatly appreciative of the existence of this forum, there are several new members attracted to the "hacking scene" who aren't necessarily familiar with or respective of the rules, specifically on one-word posts, double posting, etc. I know the moderators are fairly quick on the other boards of m2k2 to extinguish this, and I also understand that the moderators aren't necessarily interested in keeping watch on another board as well, but... after a couple of requests from different members of the forum that newer members respect the rules being ignored, the next logical step is to request a moderator step in. Here's the thread I'm referencing:

http://forum.metroid2002.com/index.php/topic,7484.60.html

In general it'd be greatly appreciated if someone could keep an eye on this board... though the purpose of it is obviously different than the other game-related boards, I can assure you there's plenty of us using it who have the same appreciate for orderly forums as anyone else around.

Edit: That was quick. Gracias.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I've posted a sticky there that should remedy the problem, and I've also warned DSDrew7 in the topic you mentioned.
Um, did someone delete the board?
