or we could time the cutscenes in the theater mode and substract that time from our final times. but yeah. that's the stupidest thing ever in a game with a timer. the video is going to be shorter than the actual final time when someone makes a speedrun and some people will be confused. there might even be people who will suspect foul play lol.
Haha. I'm just wondering if it would be feasible to subtract said time from our final time resulting in our "real" time if you know what I mean. Grats Hitaka btw on the sub 4!
i don't see why this would be considered a "punishment". i mean, it applies to everyone so it's perfectly fair. so just use the time at the end since it's way easier than manually timing. who cares.
It is stupid to force that time into your total play time. I think it pisses them off when they see a speed runner complete their game in 1/4th of the length that they claim their game is, so this is just their way of padding the game time.
I'm guessing they did it because they wanted to actually include cutscenes in the time, but were lazy and timed how long the cutscenes last, and just add that to the normal time.
I say they go by the in-game timer, so you could watch... "REMEMBER ME?!?"
In-game times should be the official times, but it would be nice to have a corrected time to use as a footnote.
I like that idea. As long as it's understood that subtracting ~103 minutes (thanks darkphazon!) is your "real" time. I like having both to identify with.
It was tedious but I timed the cutscenes again. I also timed the credits. I got 1:42:30 for the cutscenes alone and 5:17 for the credits. This gives a total of of 1:47:47.
