64% Is max. How ever there are not really that many items...
Two off the pick ups give high values though.

No. I ensure you it's not!  :P
This one is beat able, But unlike the first one. This one was to try and see if I could do some things metroid 1 did.
And how well the new options in SMILE did work.

My mini hacks are not much playable. They are mostly to test my own skill at some aspect.
And no it was not design or graphics this time. :P


In other news! My GFX kit is soon done.
Crateria and Brinstar got the same types of stone though.
I'm finding myself unable to play the hack and I tried both headered and unheadered roms, both (JU) [!] versions.  Are you sure you created it with a clean rom?  If so, it may be on my end somehow...
Not just you Pheonix, I tried it with all my collection of different roms, and none of them worked either.

Edit: Well I fixed the small problem with the room next to landing site.
Plus! I did make a hard version for all people out there who did enjoy Super Metroid Impossible.

This is for a ROM with out header.
Use: Short troid 2 FIXED.ips or Short troid2 HARD.ips

Still doesn't work for me.  I get the same problems again.

Edit:  Tried it with SMILE.  Patched to a headered rom, it gives me a subscript error when it tries to open a room and closes.  Patched to an unheadered rom, it throws garbage tiles all over the landing site room.  I have no clue what you've done.  Are you positive you are using a clean rom to make the patch?  If you are unsure use the clean roms located in the files->backups->clean_rom folder of SMILE.  Those are positively clean.

Sorry if you know this stuff, I'm just trying to figure out why it doesn't work.

I know this stuff... But now it hits me. I am pretty sure it's a (E) ROM. :/
How could you patch an (E) rom?  :-s
I thought SMILE didn't edit the E version but maybe I'm mistaken.

After (finally) watching the Ice Metal vid on the first page I DL'd it.  But it seems it won't work with either my headered or unheadered roms.  I love the way it looks...  Except for the false walls and ground (that you walk through :-?  )  Erm...  I assuming that movie was your hack.  The bright green sky and purple stuff confused me (why use it compared to other?).  Unless I've forgot what I've watch 2 days ago and I'm mistaken.

Anyway...  Any forecast as to a new release?  I'm not meaning to beg or anything.  Just curious.  Don't care if it's like 6 months from now. :p

Haha, The video shows Ice 2 and small parts of Ice 1(Metal). The green sky part is from Ice 2.
And, It seams like I have a major problem with making patches.  ;/

That is actually the best guess of mine so far. To the summer when I got more time I will release all hacks I get done. And scrap the rest before moving.
Re-GFX can be expected sooner though.
It shouldn't be hard if you edited the right rom in the first place, right? Just make sure the rom you use when creating the patch is CLEAN.  :D

Haha. I know that. How ever, For the old Ice 1. I did use the (J) ROM. And I don't even have that ROM any more.
Second the new hack use the (E) ROM. Most users here use the (U) one.
"Fixing it" Involves moving over layout manually. Since patching seams to be the problem.

I could also see if I can get a new ROM that is (U) and make the patch as that ROM was the original. How ever, The patchs file size will be extremely high. And no uploading place or this forum host files that big. Similar to what happen when you remove the header as one off the changes.

Note that, In the final version there will be a easy, medium and hard patch. This would be the medium level.
Also note that a lot of things will change. I will not write up all back info that will be in the final.

Also please do not use save stats! The save rooms are placed in a good way of usage!
And any blocks blocking doors are doors leading to areas that will be after this demo.

Your done when you have beaten Kraid and bootwom. You can take them in any order. I suggest kraid first though!

Maridia type place and I was killed by those Gomers that shoot a spiked ball/spore at you, there was also plenty of falling sands and now way to go anywhere underwater with that ordinary suit.

I never fought Botwoon. I killed Kraid and roamed around awhile, but soon I could progress no longer, like whatsoever. Really enjoyed some of the grapple puzzles. So, here's some tips you can follow or ignore:

1. No undistinguishable bomb blocks please. If you do make them no different from other blocks, at least make it shot blocks, since the bombs take like five hours to explode.

2. I'm a little surprised the hack is as difficult as it is, after you ranted at the one room hack topic about hacks being so difficult and whatnot. But this was a nice difficulty still, although less insta death would be nice

3. Some of the FX1's have scarred my pupils, but I doubt you will change it for one opinion. The darkness got annoying fast.

Also, take a look at some bugs:
0: stuck, had to restart
1:door popped up in the middle of room after I opened a different door.
2: stuck in wall, had to restart (by this time I just started savestating)
3:scrolling issues, can't see spikes :(

That one is supposed to be a "bottomless pit" styled-death.  Though unless he makes the spikes do 15 energy tanks worth of damage for an insta-kill, there's no way to make it a true bottomless pit.

1. I think I know what your talking about here. I did have to make a few changes so it was playable. The planing is to redo a few rooms that went bad. The bomb blocks originally went to a extra room. And I did the way "down" to make the scrolling sky go away. But I changed the back ground in the room later.

2. While the enemies give a lot of damage I have a hard time here. Since it's the water enemies that gives a lot of damage. I still need them to do some damage in the later part of the light world. And if you use missiles there should be no problem. There are plenty of missile drops. And you get more per drop.

3. What pallet looks bad? All or just some?

0. This is the room I am scraping to redo. So I did put my point earlier.
1. I will look into this. I got a good idea what is doing this. But I am a bit lazy.
2. Yeah the door was placed wrong. I did not think players would take the back way in. But I already fixed it.
3. Oh yes. This is a problem for a lot of people. So I am considering changing it.


As for botwoon. He is in the light world. He may be hard to find because the files to this hack explains how to get to that part of the world. In a way.
The grapple block can be used to pull your self in and out on the other side of a wall.
This will be removed in final most likely. Since there is a big chance players get stuck. But been to lazy to mess with it....

Gaius_4: You should go in the "light world" The falling sand is easy to get past if you hold down the jump button when jumping! ^^
