Ok while messing around with the second from of SA-X I discovered if you have a fully charged shot waiting and you morphball to fire it at SA-X Form 2 it kills him faster  Shocked  It takes three shots with that, and 5 shots with regular way. Is this already known or a glitch or what?

The Second trick is the first form, it's not as fast as the freeze and charge but I think it will be useful in 1% runs where you dont have many missles. First as soon as she enters jump onto the platform upabove the entrance to the Recharge room. There SA-X will screw attack herself into the bottom area, as soon as she lands shoot her with a charged blast, then she will either jump up which gives you a free shot or try to escape if she does try to escape DO NOT let her or this trick will mess up. If she screw attack out right in front of you knock her back down with a charge blast into the area

Thread title:
SA-X can be killed in 3 hits just by shooting it in close range. No morphing required. I always aim diagonally when doing this. Don't know if it makes a difference.

Nice trick for the 1st form. On my first 1% run, I actually tried that, but I just jumped and shot straight down. I couldn't consistently keep it locked under there.
I did not know that if you just went clsoe up to him you oculd kill him in three shots why is that?
When you shoot a charge beam, there is a little flare that circles the arm cannon. That flare has major damage potential. But, of course, you must be at point blank range.
I've gotten 2 shot SA-X 2nd form battles before simply by space jumping and firing diagonally at it.
You can kill SA-X form 2 with 2 shots while standing on the ground...
1 shot diagonally up from crouching, and one straight up as it jumps (point-blank of course).
Point black range :?

Directly in front of it's ugly face with barely any pixels separating the two.

Indeed.  If you didn't know that, Abyss, try it out -- it's extremely useful, especially for bosses.  Point-blank charged shots kill eye doors in one hit and Serris in two (!), and they can drastically shorten the longer fights like Nettori and Yakuza.

That SA-X trick is obscenely clever.  Will we ever run out of ways to exploit that sloppy AI?  I found a new one myself recently, though it's not useful -- if you get your missile off fast enough in the TRO encounter after Yakuza, the SA-X doesn't notice you're there at first.  Both times I got this to happen, the music didn't change until I was almost at the door.  It makes me wonder if a more precise player might be able to get through that room completely unnoticed and avoid the whole chase....
I'll be back. Maybe...
Sounds interesting... Ekarderif, is this true?

Edit: (The SA-X trick, I mean)
It chases you even if you get by unnoticed.

It seems that the SA-X's stupidity never sets in when it's helpful.

Ideal is a few pixels away. The flare isn't exactly touching Samus so neither should you touch your target.

Skreemaster, bananas? I can't answer a question if I have no clue what "this" is referencing.

I think he's refering to Zeke's comments, Fusion slave.

I dunno, I find it pretty useful in the actual battle.  A non-stupid SA-X would figure out "Hey, she's just shooting and then jumping over me every time...."
One shall stand, one shall ball.
A non-stupid SA-X would search rooms that that Samus hides, knowing that the room only has one entrance and that the short wall in the middle of the room is not the end of the room.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Ha!  I'd forgotten that part.  What exactly is the SA-X thinking?  "Hmm... she went in this room, and now the room is empty.  She must have ceased to exist."

Zero Mission's Space Pirates have the same problem.  Actually, they act so much like the SA-X that I'll bet Nintendo reused some of the code.
Perhaps SA-X is just lazy! It thinks to itself "Samus is no longer right in front of me...I can't be pissed to find her...I just have a nap and get one of my 9 brothers to kill her for me..." by which time Samus is looooooong gone!

I hate doing that.
