Saber's been mildly on my case to post my knitting projects here. So, okay, I'll put up a photo of my most recently completed project... on his head be it. Or mine.
Over a year ago Saber drafted some art for the site, depicting Samus in some suit or other, standing on a maze. The color scheme was his own, and I made fun of it, remarking that her morph ball form would look like a pumpkin.
I had this mostly red-orange yarn made from recycled sari silk and since there's a lot of green in it (as well as other colors) I decided to accent it with a green yarn, and use a slightly different stitch pattern from usual. The resultant beret is somewhat closer to what a morph ball in Saber's color scheme would look than the animated pumpkin I linked last year. This was unintentional; all the hats I make are put together about the same way but the stitch pattern and the highly contrasting yarn colors made the swirl construction more conspicuous than usual.
(It doesn't look quite that garish in person. The silk shimmers a bit, as does the green rayon ribbon, so both look rather bright in the flash.)
