Cook of the Sea
Okay so I've roughly planned out the first scene of The Paragon Project, my vebkomik, and now I present it to you for the hell of it. Complete with scribbley visuals. Four pages to a scan, the dialogue etc is either above or below the page it's talking about, depending on where the pages are on the scans.
-------------------------------
Page 1: A street scene in front of a pawn shop, two children running from the right, a man in a long coat in the middle, and a hooker on the left. In the second panel, both of the electronic displays change to the word "Lizard7" shown in bright purple. Everyone turns to look at it.
Dialogue 1: On the 7th day of the 7th month of the 7th year of the last decade of the 22nd century, a very startling and unusual thing happened in Sector 7.
Page 2: The same thing happens in another place, with the display not facing the camera this time. The purple glow in the second panel shows what happened.
Dialogue 2: As hacking jobs go, it was not a particularly difficult one. It did, however, attract the attention of the right people.
Page 3: We see the same thing happen again with three very large displays over a skyscraper. The two heads appear out of the shadows, one male, one female. Cybernetic whatnot is visible on them.
Dialogue 3: You see, hacking jobs of this difficulty happen all the time here. The only thing that made this one unusual was that everyone in the city knew about it.
Page 4: Skyline shot of the whole city, followed by another closeup of the logo. Two cyborgs, one male (labeled "L") and one female (labeled "7"), are standing in the shadows, facing the camera and smiling.
Dialogue 4: Welcome to Remote South, a city ruled by hackers.
--------------------------------------
NOTE: I'll probably put a title page in here, but I didn't bother with that at this point.
--------------------------------------
Page 5: First panel: A pair of lips in shadows. Second panel: A 35-year-old heavyset man in a green jacket steps down onto the street from his apartment, lighting a cigar.
Dialogue 1: 2199 December 31, 23:54
Dialogue 2: (Kraken): You're not at your station, what's going on?
Dialogue 3: (Jake): Just stepping out for a smoke, Kray, I'm not going anywhere.
Dialogue 4: (Kraken): Okay, just don't take too long. Just because we haven't heard about anything doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
Dialogue 5: (Jake): Right right, but I really doubt the Rubicon has anything up its sleeves. They're not stupid, they'll know it'll be impossible on a landmark date with all the security this time around.
Dialogue 6: (Kraken): They're fanatics, Jake, we already know they're stupid. Just get back to your station as quick as you can.
Page 6: While standing around, a little girl in rags sneaks up and grabs his wallet. He doesn't notice as she runs away.
Page 7: Shot of the girl running, Overhead shot of him smoking, then he sticks his hand in the now-empty pocket.
Dialogue 7: (Jake): God dammit.
Page 8: Most of the page is devoted to Kraken, who's sitting in a dark room at a computer. The lower panels show Jake chasing after the little girl.
Dialogue 8: (Jake): Kraken. Problem. Someone grabbed my wallet, it's got sensitive stuff in there.
Dialogue 9: (Kraken): Why the hell do you have sensitive stuff in your wallet?
Dialogue 10: (Jake): It's a memory card I grabbed in the Sector, forgot it was in there. Just track it, would you?
Dialogue 11: (Kraken): Right.
Dialogue 12: (Kraken): It's headed due north up your street and left at the alley.
--------------------------------------
Page 9: You see a man with a huge image of his face behind him on a screen giving a speech to a large group of people.
Dialogue 1: My fellow humans, we have risen from the fire and ash of last century's war to form new beginnings and a strengthened, unified people! Remote South is not the last human city, but the first of a new age! We will rise up to reclaim the wastelands of the continents and...
Dialogue 2: (Kraken): The President's in rare form tonight, Jake.
Dialogue 3: (Kraken): Oh, you're closing in.
Page 10: Jake enters a convenience store. The little girl is stretching up to the counter with the wallet in hand. He sees her and she turns around, scared.
Dialogue 4: (Kraken): Four meters to your right.
Dialogue 5: (Jake): Um...
Page 11: The clerk eyes Jake confusedly as the girl tries to back away. On Jake's head in the last panel we can see that he has some sort of implant. (We can't actually see that in the rough, but trust me)
Dialogue 6: (Jake): That's, er, mine.
Dialogue 7: (Clerk): Sir?
Dialogue 8: (Girl): No! He tried to hurt me before! He's a bad man!
Dialogue 9: (Clerk): Sir...
Dialogue 10: (Kraken): Why would she try to buy something right after ripping you off? That doesn't make sense.
Dialogue 11: (Jake [speaking inaudibly]): You're watching on the security cameras, right? Look at her.
Page 12: We see a camera's eye view of the girl, emphasizing how thin and frail she is. Then, Jake turns toward a TV in the store.
Dialogue 12: (Kraken): My God...she's so thin...how could she run that fast, she must be starving...
Dialogue 13: (Girl): You'll make him go away, won't you?
Dialogue 14: (Clerk): Sure, honey, don't worry.
Dialogue 15: (Clerk): Sir, I am gonna have to ask you to-
Dialogue 16: (TV reporter): It seems that just moments ago a cryptic message appeared on the monitors at the President's Centennial speech.
--------------------------------------
Page 13: We see on the TV the president with the words "Hi, Lizard7! -modus_pwnens-" behind him. Then, an explosion shatters the monitor, engulfing him.
Dialogue 1: (Kraken): Oh, shit.
Dialogue 2: (Jake): Yeah, looks like L7's got a fangirl.
Page 14: An overview of the city with announcements from various stations displayed. Then, the clerk stares at the TV while Jake just grabs the girl and the money and runs for it.
Dialogue 3: (TV reporter): An explosion has occurred, the President is-
Dialogue 4: (TV reporter): Moments ago, the President-
Dialogue 5: (TV reporter): The President has been assassinated!
Dialogue 6: (Jake): God DAMMIT!
