No kidding. I have heard that the game takes place in the Metroid series, I don't really believe it but I would like to know for sure one way or another. And the name doesn't tell whether she uses her Varia, Gravity, original, or whatever Suit.

Metroid Prime Pinball IS Metroid Prime, just in pinball form. Storyline-wise, it's the same game. And Samus uses the Varia throughout the game.
