hey somebody please help me out with the roll jump

I'm trying to get the screw attack early, i've seen the video and read the description and cannot get the roll jump to work.
I've done the button sequence correctly to the point where i think it will work as samus does a little hop out of the unmorph but then the 2nd jump won't deploy and she falls to her death :-(

Just how fast do i have to do the button sequence?
i can never get the 2nd jump to work.

what am i doing wrong, someone please help, getting very frusterated.

thanks a lot aces

You don't need to roöö jump to get early screw attack. Or at least i didn't need it.

EDIT: Sorry, it's "roll", and not "roöö"... Embarassed

If you are talking about kip dash (I don't think there is another way to get the early screw attack) it's harder than the roll jump, so I think it's better to start by the roll jump.

Anyway, to be able to jump after the instant unmoprh, the most important thing is that you have to hit B immediatly after X.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
The roll jump's timing is very important, you need to be just below the ledge. From my experience the jump worked best just after falling from the ledge, a it longer after that long and you'll be in the terminal fall, and a bit before that you don't get the instant unmorph and fall.
I can get the instant unmorph timing just fine, that's easy, i can't get the full jump.  all she does is a hop and the 2nd jump won't deploy *sigh* damn retro and their sequence breaking ruining. heh.
is there no tricks to this?  Its like its just luck to get the timing right.

just how immediate is immediate? heh. that's hypothetical, don't answer that.

You may need to unmorph just a tiny bit sooner, it's tricky, but just keep at it and you'll get it.

I'm also having a hard time with the roll jump at the exact same place and probably the same problem. What I wonder is, might this nice little tweak have been removed in the European version of the game? Nintendo seem to love to remove these cool features, like the scan dash jump that doesn't work in Prime 1 and probably not in Echoes either. Cursed be Nintendo for that awful ajustment.
if you're getting one jump i can't think of a reason you shouldn't get your second jump...

for me i switch the way i hold the controller. have my pointer finger on B and my middle finger on unmorph, and once over the ledge just tap them both in quick succession (unmorph first then B). it's the same way i do BSJ's and i've never had any trouble with it.

I also did exactly as the instructions says without any success at all. But when I tried to do the unmorph without holding R when I rolled off the ledge, it worked much better. I haven't manage to cross yet, but I get the jumps now and then now. So DONT hold R before unmorphing. At least this is what I experienced.

No R, no roll jump (no L+R boost) and no getting across WSA. Add a boost and you might make it, but then it will be some sort of fruit transport rather than a roll jump.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
hm the first strawberry express vid doesn't play.
Jagger ftw
yeah,

the second vid is probably better any ways..

Thanks for the heads-up. Should work now.
on my low% hard run (it isnt finished yet i want 2:20) i had the pointer finger on X and the middle finger on R the middle finger of my other hand was on the L button. be sure that you press the B button direct after the X button.
the little hop after your unmorph is good when you will get the roll jump it will be perfect just the B button is false.
dont forget to push your control stick to the frontaiwebs_011
You could also do the scan way...

MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
ok a little how to:
press R while rolling of a ledge when you think to get a instant unmorph press X and B simultansly (or B a few frames later than X)
press L exactly after unmorphing
try it about 20 or 30minutes

idk i couldn't do the unmorph/jump for a long time to make it across. the "kip dash" is what i used and got it almost every time, just follow the directions EXACTLY and u should be able to pull it off. although the instant unmorph method is pretty obsolete at this point in terms of speed and accuracy

What.
