Plus, the DS has the perfect control scheme for Super Metroid... the GBA lacks 2 buttons!

Quote from Zeke:
I think we can agree that the very last thing the Super Metroid community needs is more people emulating, and without a port, the ratio of ekarderifs to real players is only going to increase.

*Emuraperifs.
Quote from RT-55J:
The main reason is that the DS has enough buttons so the controls aren't as "cramped".

Quote from Exile:
You wouldn't be able to direct port it to GBA. Not enough buttonage.

Tomato, tomahto.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Quote from Zeke:
I understand where Scarlet's coming from with the "Not at all" option. The reason I disagree is this: as a rule, new gamers don't go around collecting older systems, they buy what's new and hot. How many teenagers are going to buy a SNES and go to the trouble of finding a Super Metroid cart when that money could get them the latest stuff?

I couldn't care less what other people buy.

I would love to see a gamepad that has zippers instead of buttons.
I'll be back. Maybe...

Of course not. But you do care about people passing up your runs in favour of the last emu-kraid. The more people play Super legitimately, the more they'll learn to respect genuine skill.
Too many fangirls to count

XD ROFLMAO!!!!! I know it's true, but it's so funny.
red chamber dream
I'm glad I'm in the category of real player, and not an Ekaderif :P. I've heard of the Big E; he sounds tough.
*manly poses*
Direct port that keeps everything the same save controls. I thought that was obvious, it's impossible otherwise. >__>;
i think revamped graphics on the DS would be kick ass. but I would also settle for an unlockable in future games, like MP3 for example
One shall stand, one shall ball.

You called?
I haven't emu-raped Super Metroid ever... stop giving me false glories.
sigged. and i believe her point was that her opinion is her opinion, and that the priorities of other people do not change how she feels.

Ready and willing.
And Zeke's point was to try to make it matter.

I still say it should be with a garden hose.
Nate, the length of that sig makes baby TRH cry, can't you at least short it down??

I emu-raped games many years ago... that was before I realised they were illegal. (If there were a Microsoft console game that could run on the PC, it would be different)

Anyway, I think it should be ported to GCN as an unlockable: GBA is too small and has too few buttons, and DS probably wouldn't like it: it is basically a handheld N64 with massive multiplayer, and I remember well how the original N64 complained about some GBC games... or maybe it was just old.

I suppose they could do what they did to the original Metroid, and add it to everything...
Right...

Is it confirmed for DS or GBA at all?

I can't see why they should release it on the DS, they released Mario Allstars on the SNES but released all of the games individually on a more powerful system (GBA). Releasing SM on something as powerful as the DS just because it's the latest thing when the GBA is still going and the DS supports GBA games is ridiculous.

I suppose what they could do is what they did with a few games like Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, in that it worked on a standard GB but had different features on the GBC. Make SM for GBA but with DS-specific features like a touch-map.

No.

Really? The Oracles were like that, too, but with GBA instead of GBC.
Yeah, a colour dungeon was accessible, but on the monochrome GB a chap says: "This dungeon is only accesable to those with the power of color", or somesuch thing.

On Oracles, you just get a house open that you get a completeluy useless ring in. :x

For SM, I think slightly improved graphics (as that's allthey need) and extra areas, as I think all old updates need.

I don't see the problem with it being on GBA's screen. Yoshi's Island looked beautiful on GBA, and all SNES ports have managed with the lacking 2 buttons, that won't be a problem.
