Hey there!

I just saw an update on M2002 metroid prime's page where they removed L-Lock Spring Space Jump. Just out of curiosity, why?

And also having been away from MP speedrunning (I forgot my previous user's password here and email) for 9+years. Last time I remember watching a Speed run was the 0:56. Glad to see we are now down to 51 minutes
!
Thread title:
One shall stand, one shall ball.
My understanding is the L--Lock Spring Space Jump isn't actually A Thing, it was just a sort of a trick of perspective that made it seem like you were covering more ground than you normally would.

RIP L-Lock Spring Space Jump.

as a general rule, the users of this forum will be the last people to realise the site has changed, or know why

(I include myself in this btw)

On one hand, it is really cool that this site is still getting updated, or rather, getting updated again after like 9 years of inactivity. In fact, it seems like the newest update happend only 6 days ago on April 16th! On the other hand, a shame that some historic info, like some original texts and videos have been lost.

Like, it would have been nice to see the old description of the L-Lock Spring Space Jump again. It was such a completely and utterly useless technique, it was downright funny. I remember back in 2006, i desparately tried to cross Fungal Hall A without the Grapple Beam using this utter garbage technique. I had to abandon a run in which i tried to skip the Grapple Beam i think, but managed it at some point with this technique finally. Only to later realize that it's the easiest thing ever if you use an R-Jump haha.

Speaking of Fungal Hall A, i think back then it said "Use an L-Lock Spring Space Jump to reach the far mushroom" or something. Now it just says use an L-Jump (after all, the update did promise to have removed all mention of the L-Lock Spring Space Jump). Curiously enough, this video didn't seem to be updated, it still uses a good old L-Lock Spring Space Jump in action i think haha!
I suspect archive sites probably still have the text.

The videos are likely in the bitbucket, though.
