I've played the original so much I'm not really interested in seeing that. Even though Redesign isn't my favorite, I'm looking forward to watching you play this. I can't imagine a better bunch of fun than seeing the hacks' creator play it, I've yet to see a really good player playing it.

If you're single-segmenting thr run, what do you estimate your completion time to be?

I only ask, as you'll be starting at 11:00pm for me, so anything more then about 5 hours would be impossible to watch. Crying or Very sad

Edit: Even though what I could see was sporadic...  The time remaining on the countdown clock...  What was it again?  I could only see Samus standing in the middle of her ship and it was on 5:52:xx, but someone else said it was 5:51.

I was just curious.

I stayed for the first three hours and forty-five minutes, but gave in at 3am - I had to go to bed for work.  There was no way I'd have been able to finish watching if it took that time.

Well it started at 11PM for me and I stayed till 4AM when Drew was exploring Maridia, then went to bed. I got up at 8 and he was just heading off to Tourian :D

I started out on 9:00 PM and went to bed at 11:45 PM
The best part was when Sigfried tried to OWWJ up an wall in Norfair to get an early sm pack. He failed repeatedly then freaking IBJ'ED his way up in three tries o.o

By the way: to anyone curious about what I was saying with the lost caverns crashing I meant this:


Sigfried managed to get on the bottom of the floor at 0:09, but it didn't crash.

Yes, I remember the Norfair Wall-Jump session.  Even Spoofer, who was originally praising his dedication, was begging him to move on.  Then Drew gave up, and IBJ'd it in no time at all.

Another section like that was the Crateria Power Bomb maze, which was collected shortly before I turned in. Very Happy

I'd love to have seen the rest, but sleepyland beckoned.  Perhaps the next brave soul should arrange it for the weekend, and start early AM (for US, at least), so that we can all watch it.

It took nearly 10 hours to obtain 100%! I got home from work expecting it to be over, and I got to watch a good 4 hours of it! :3  Very fun to watch!

Not to mention everyone and their cat on #jzd has a livestream account now.  (ok, not EVERYONE, but you get the idea)

Wow that was a workout.  I just woke up!  went to sleep at 5am, its now nearly 2pm.

FUN!

anyway my entire run is up on livestream.  though a few things I'd like to point out.  I was under crazy stress during hells run and the first death was my fault, the rest of the deaths were due to being provoked to get that damn early etank in the maze.

I fully admit the grapple section was unfair and should never have been made so damn hard.  but its still a decent challenge, I just should have the save station in that room.

Thanks to everyone who watched, it was fun!

now we need ot get someone to come up with a TAS route now that I show where all the items are!

Same.  I saw parts of it but just couldn't stay up (pesky job and all).  I will admit the Lost Caverns gave me a chuckle.  I may go back and watch some more later.

My interwebs gave out shortly after you collected Wave Beam and left Norfair so I only saw about an hour of it. It was really a lot of fun for what I saw. Hopefully some more people will do this with their own hacks.

Yes, the animals were saved.

I started watching about four hours before the end, or just before Drew cheated used a shortcut to bypass the large Norfair morph ball maze with a PB at the end.

I watched from about after PB's, and drew was going back to Norfair/Brinstar elevator, until after Gold Torizo. Unfortunately had to get off after that. I would've loved to see the escape.

That shortcut in the PB maze that RT-55J told pissed me off! I feel so stupid now for going all the way around :(
And I've never seen the floor on Lost Caverns before, I was surprised when I saw Drew there.

No idea, but it's the one in Upper Norfair, behind a blue gate and pretty much right next to the SB path on the map (though, the rooms aren't connected). He just went up to the top, and shot a Super Missile to get around the crumble blocks blocking your way, instead of going through the maze.

Yes, apparently there's a floor. There's a vid of a glitch in Lost Caverns on the previous page, and you can see a small section of it.

BTW, that glitch is probably caused by having SA early I'm guessing, since the horizontal momentum boost may force you through a teleport PLM (or BTS) without you actually touching it, which would be what causes the errors.

EDIT: Had a look for it, and you actually just go down when you reach the top (see attachment)
