Hello all,

I was talking with Kirby earlier tonight and wanted to pose this question to everyone here: How many people would be interested and actually use a record keeping site for Zero Mission, Fusion, and the Primes, much like Deer Tier exists for Super Metroid?  I'm interested in helping setup such a site if the community is interested in having one.  Let me know your thoughts.

Thread title:
I would be pretty interested in this personally. I like the idea of having a dedicated website rather than the list just being on the forums.
I'd certainly be happy with this - with improvements to ZM and runs to make in Fusion I'd expect to be updating the forums often, so having a dedicated site to do this would be easier :)

This would probably be a good thing. Having the leader boards in the forums like they are right now is a very strange setup, and probably wouldn't go over well if any of the games ever got very popular.

I think it's a great idea cause these games don't get enough attention or recognition as sm so yea it would be nice to have a site dedicated to  other metroid games
why not just have a google doc that links to other google docs? or is that too lame or something?

That also sounds viable. But it does sound kind of lame.
A nice-looking site would be lovely, yes. I actually asked mr landmaster, the admin of deertier, about it last year, but he was under the impression that SRL leaderboards would make it unnecessary, and we all know how that turned out.

I'm going to pre-empt all the debates by throwing my opinion out there right now: leaderboards should have an RTA field (left blank for unrecorded runs and emulated runs) and the option to sort by that field.

A site would be great, maybe merging the games together on the same site too if that's easier for navigation? The primes and GBA metroids prioritize in-game time, but I agree with mobius that having RTA times there would be good as well; it'd be important to have the leaderboards emphasize that in-game time is generally prioritized by most runners, and thus ordered initially that way, but have the option to order by RTA if the viewer so chooses as well?

It's primarily a problem for metroid fusion, but it was generally agreed to eventually have the metroid fusion leaderboards as such in the first post here - https://m2k2.taigaforum.com/post/timing_used_in_fusion.html

I'm sure the metroid II runners would like to have a website for leaderboards as well, since a few more people are picking up the game (Metroid II goes purely RTA since the in-game timer is horrible lol)
1. What would you do about segmented runs?
2. What would you do with certain low%s? (primes come to mind)

i'm really interested in this project, i think ZSR is the good type of website for this project^^
Thanks for the feedback all.  I'll start working stuff and give a link when there's something to show, taking into account what you guys have said thus far.

Also, if anyone is good (or decent even) at graphics, let me know.

This is very strongly appreciated straevaras. Thanks a lot, and please keep us up to date on how it's going :)
Throwing an update out there for those who are curious (I know Zelkys has tweeted at me saying to let him know when I need graphics help, I haven't forgotten about that).

In short, I've been busy (plus my obsession to 45 Super Metroid has been consuming me).  Within the next week I'm going to draw up a concept for how to lay everything out for everyone to look at.  I've been thinking it out in my head from what I know about how record keeping in this community works so far, and just need to put it all down on paper.
Thanks for the update.
kottKatt nice update kottKatt
