Yeah, I was bored. Not sure this really deserves its own topic, but oh well.

Normal Hypermode:

The Hypermode bar starts at 150. Attacks decrease it by a specific amount:

Hyper Beam (uncharged) - 5.5
Hyper Beam (charged) - Charged Hyper Beam fires a small shot every other frame; each shot decreases the bar by 1. Fully charged fires 76 shots.
Hyper Ball - 2/3rds each frame (40 per second)
Hyper Missile - 40

When corrupted, the bar increases at a rate of 10 per second. You become fully corrupted once you reach 150; you have 5 seconds to get it down to 95 or lower or you die. It temporarily stops increasing while fully corrupted (so basically, getting fully corrupted wastes potential phazon).

Phaaze:

The bar is equal to your max HP, so it maxes between 199 with 1 tank and 1499 with 14 tanks.

Normally, the bar increases at a rate of 2.3 per second. During the final bosses it increases at half that rate, so 1.15 per second.

Stuff that can decrease it:

Small Anti-Phazon Unit - 17.5
Large Anti-Phazon Unit - 35
Hyper Grappling that thing in the second room - .5 per frame (30 per second)
Hyper Grappling enemies - 3.333... per frame (200 per second)
Phazon Puffer - 70 each time it sucks Phazon from you

(If you scan the Anti-Phazon Units, it says they decrease by 25 or 50 each. It's lying.)

You become fully corrupted once you max out the bar; you have 5 seconds to get it down to 95 or lower or you die. Yes, Retro is incredibly lazy. Have fun getting it down to 95 from 1499!

DOES THIS MEAN YOU'RE DOING AN MP3 RUN?!?!?!?!
<~Mìles> Yes.
Oh, cool, Mìles is going to do a run? Can't wait to see it.

Wouldn't it be feasible to actually do that if you're in a low% run or something? Funny that it would be easier with less e-tanks lol.

Oh, nice to see you're doing an MP3 run now.
That joke definitely hasn't already been made a few posts up.

Maybe I should just have this topic deleted if it's just going to keep attracting this. <_<
too late 83
besides I asked an actual question and you didn't answer it so you don't get to complain
I thought it was meant to be rhetorical. It'd be simple by grappling an enemy... Good luck getting 3 large refills within 5 seconds though.

Somewhat related question, but is there a way of knowing if the grapple thing requires hyper grapple? Just in case some sort of minor miracle happens with the one on Pirate Homeworld. I would imagine it does, but I would've also imagined that the ice doors on Elysia were ice doors.
Just removed it with codes and couldn't lock on, it is required.

3.333 per frame doesn't come out to 200 per second, it comes out to ~20 per second.

Just wondering: has it been confirmed (would be a minimum tank run obviously) that dropping below 95 units on phaaze will actually end full corruption?

I think this game runs at closer to 60 FPS than 6 FPS.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
so, charged vs uncharged hyper beam. which is better in the long run?

MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
pretty sure charge beam deals more damage than the usual beam <_<
so charge it when you have time to charge it, also it doesnt waste so much phazon which lets you keep the hypermode up longer during the corruption if your phazon is too low just try to take damage from the enemies to get extra phazon.
it would be useful to know how much damage each charge beam part/shoot/missile/morph ball lightening in the hyper mode deals.
Assuming beam is already charged, doing normal shots has barely more DPS than charged shots. This is just what it seems like to me though, and using charged shots is "safer" because it's more shots and conserves more phazon per damage.

Oh it does more? That's good to know.
