Sorry for dregging this up from the deep, dark abyss in which it was buried... But, I'm having some trouble with this (well, duh, or else I wouldn't be posting here, now would I?). My only solution that I can think of, since my web hoster doesn't let you attach entire folders. Is it ok of I attach individual files to the page? Not sure how I could work that...
I'm not sure if attaching individual images to a page would do it or not but would this mentioned site be a good one to use for uploading a file?? I mean, it's spyware and virus free, right?? And it's a stable site, right?? Once these questions get answered, we should be good to go if we want random avatars.... Thanks for any help.
Well, I got it all working, but apparently the images are too big. It won't let me use them as avatars! . They're not even that much bigger than the other that I currently use. Any clue on what I should do to fix this?

If the images are too big, you can resize them using the Microsoft paint program, Gimp, or Photoshop. Whichever image editing program you prefer. Or you could e-mail me the images and I'll resize them to whatever size you'd need, Bioniclegenius....
The test version is already configured with an username and a password, and the login page already has those values preset so anyone can login immediately and have a look-see around. I'm still tinkering with the responses for both failed, successful and semi-successful installs (semi-successful: files copied, config file generated correctly, but error when chmod'ing the files), and with the dashboard configuration editor, but everything else aside from that is mostly finished.
Opinions, suggestions, criticism, comments, cheese and wine?

success! files have been chmodded successfully and the script is now running correctly! btw, don't complain yet, this installer version isn't for release, so messages are still like this!
Dominican I tried out your thingy, and I got that at the end, but I assume it means everything went fine?
Edit: ok this is weird, after I finished that and I clicked on the link you posted for the dashboard (http://www.nanatsuyoru.co.cc/avatars/v3.0/info/login.php) It's giving me 403 Forbidden errors. If I clink on any of those links I get a 403 Forbidden. I didn't screw something up did I? <.<;
Ah thanks BioSpark. I tried using the thing Nate posted, and I did all the steps fine and it worked perfectly, but it doesn't work when I try to put it up as an avatar.
oh boo, my host won't let me rename the .htaccess file to .htaccess. it stops me and renames it back to the original name. anyone know any good free host that gives you a free subdomain and can use this random avatar stuff. I've had bad luck so far.
nope command line renaming didn't work. Did some research on my host and it doesn't support php so the php script in the avatar.jpg probably won't work anyways.
