says power bombs deal 200 damage
says power bombs deal half damage to metroids

http://deanyd.net/sm/index.php?title=Metroid

says metroids have 500 health

but don't metroids die in 3 power bombs, which would be 300 damage...

Anyone know which piece is wrong?

None of those notes are wrong. You missed a sidenote for these, namely: ''Can hit twice''. So if a powerbomb hits early enough that the induced invulnerability frames of the Metroids (which they obtain as soon as they get hit) can run out while the large rectangled powerbomb hitbox is still active, then it can hit a second time, which explains why 5 powerbomb hits kill them, which can be done with 3 powerbombs where only 1 of them only hits once and the others twice (which is the maximum) each.

Ohhhhh, I see.  Thanks for the explanation.
