It's not too ridiculously hard with 15%... just pick up 6 Super Missiles (or 5 Supers and Screw Attack) ;). For 10% though, congratulations :D.

I'm thinking of doing another 10% hard SS run.

It gives me nightmares thinking about it, but why not. I was playing Pokemon: FR for a couple weeks and I could use a change.

If anybody cares, I just randomly tried an any% single segment run.  It was my first time playing the game in months, and was all around very rusty, but I managed to get a time of 32:05.  It was actually very good until Chozodia... I started forgetting rooms, had to refill my health twice, etc.  I also messed up the shinespark shortcut on the escape (hit the pirate, breaking my charge), so I had to actually go through the last few rooms normally which easily cost me 30+ seconds.  If Chozodia wasn't so bad this could have easily been 30:xx.  I don't know if I'll make a real attempt at a SS run, but if I do I'll be sure to record it.

Time bomb set get out fast!
My best ZM time so far is 1:36 on Normal.  That was my first run with major SBing -- I did Ridley before Kraid and skipped Wave Beam and Screw Attack.  My percent was something like 40, I think.  After I won I turned it into a 100% game; took me another hour, partly because I don't have all the item locations down pat yet, and partly because I suck at getting a few of them (especially that crocomiring Energy Tank in the Mother Ship that takes multiple Shinesparks).  I'm now trying to gradually lower my percentage.  I'm going for about 30% on my current playthrough, and believe it or not, I'm stuck at Ridley... yes, even knowing the cheesing strategy.  The punk's driving me nuts.

On my first Hard mode playthrough, I was doing really well and feeling pretty proud of myself... and then I got to Mother Brain.  I haven't died so many times to a single boss, or come closer to throwing my GBA into a Gaping Maw, since Nightmare and the SA-X.  It wasn't till I learned the cheap "morph ball right in her face" trick that I was finally able to beat her (easily).  I had some further agony in the stealth section -- thank you oh so much for locking those Save Rooms, Nintendo -- but once I got my suit back, the rest was easy, even when I went back for 100% like in my Normal game.  I think my final Hard time was something like 3:00, which I obviously plan to improve on.

Broke my charge at the very end again, costing me 30 seconds.  Also, I fell down two rooms before the first Super Missile, making me go down and around to get it... probably another 30 or so seconds there.

So new world record, yippee and such. I can prolly bring it down that 16 seconds with this run cause I have a save back at like... either right before or after the new suit, I forget. :p

I won't be recording for a while though, unfortunately, just cause I don't have an SP and won't try to record without one since it's really not worth it. Prolly around Jan. I'll get a new one. Don't wait up for this run.

I'm trying to think of the 1 1/2 minutes or so worth of mistakes there were in this run.  It sure didn't seem like there were that many.  I guess the next step would be to get 30:xx... missed it by two seconds  :x

I'd like to record a good segmented run while I'm on this little hot streak.

This the first time that I skipped the screw attack and the ziplines. I lost a lot of time in tourian because I wasn't used to doing it without screw attack.

I'm going to do another run as soon as I am finished with my first MP2 run. Wink
