wow good job metal I always knew you could do it. now I have to keep playing it. I think I'm just going to completely ditch my 100 sub 2 hour run on fusion and just work zero mission.
Oh thanks alote, so now matter what time or percent? so I have both over and under 2 hours on normal, what picture do I get for over 2hours and 100% on normal?
I got the chart from gamespot ( I hope this isn't Illegal)
Samus in full armor sitting on a rock Beat the game in Easy or in over 4 hours and above 15% in Normal or Hard. Samus without her helmet looking at the sunset Beat the game around 3 hours and above 15% in Normal or Hard. Samus in just her blue jumpsuit Beat the game under 2 hours and above 15% in Normal and Hard. Samus sitting near a window in a red top and shorts Beat the game below 15% in Normal. Samus standing in full armor, with a close of her face without it in the background Beat the game below 15% in Hard. Samus in a red top and shorts, walking around a city Beat the game over 2 hours and 100% in Normal or Hard. Samus at a bar in a red top and shorts Beat the game under 2 hours and 100% in Normal. Samus over looking a city in a red top and shorts Beat the game under 2 hours and 100% in Hard.
15% Normal - 1:47 100% Hard - 1:58 (was a close one. After getting the PB in West Chozodia I had under 10 mins to get to Mecha-Ridley, thrash him and get out.)
After some serious trouble, I finally beat the MB, managed to survive Chozodia & beat the crap out of Mecha-Ridley & those annoying Black Pirates, I managed to complete Hard with 15% with 6 Missiles, 2 E. Tanks & Screw Attack. Only 100% <2 on Hard left now :)
Was working on a 100% perfect run separating it by saves but kept getting too frusterated when something wouldn't go prefectly. Thus, I decided to do a 100% Normal no-save no-reset run just for fun...
God was I suprised when I had beat my old time (1:09:09) by a full minute (I seriously thought I would get a time like 1:15 or 1:20). Been doing no-save no-reset runs ever since and thus have managed to drop my time ever further.
I know I can drop it some more since I had a couple glaring mistakes going through this time (one being I mistimed a jump when escaping from the Tourian and fell from 3/4 of the way up all the way back down to the bottom).
100% Normal - 1:04:27 ... Thus, I decided to do a 100% Normal no-save no-reset run just for fun...
So you got that time on a single segment run? If so that's amazing! Can you record?
Working on that...want to shave a little more time off first. I know there's a few places I could easily knock at least another minute off due to mistakes on my part.
BTW - What IS the current normal 100% record? I haven't been able to find it anywhere
I don't think there is one, or at least not a well known one. I'm sure there's personal records, but nobody's said anything. So yeah, you oughta record. Would be very cool to watch.
Yet another speed run. Just wanted to play it through for fun since I had nothing else to do really. And I got my first sub-1 hour run ever. Kinda panicked since I entered the Ridley fight @ around 56ish but he died very easily with Supers ;)
Normal 100% 4:04:30. As you can tell I was not speed running this. Anyways, gonna start a 15 percent run next. Going with 3 Supers, 2 Energy Tanks, and the Screw Attack. I'll miss the long beam but I can do without it...
Yay! Hard 100%, 1:40:02. I bet I can cut a minute off of this, however, as I didn't pull of the ending ballspark. As gas stations have shown me, (n-1)9 always looks better than n0.
8/8 endings! My favorite is still Normal 15%, but this one is pretty sweet, too. Now what can I do... maybe I'll try a NBMB, as far as that goes.
Now you should try speed runs Metal. It seriously makes the game have infinitely more replay, what with the route planning and trying to get the segs pretty fuckin' good. While you're likely to get really frustrated and mad, and eventually tire of the game, until then, it's way way fun. Plus, then people will be like 'holy crap they're so good!!1!' when in reality it was hours of toil... makes you feel good. Just an idea... we need more people speed running this game.
I'd try some speed running, but I'm just not speedy. My best time in a Metroid game is 1:51 in Fusion. I'm working on a 15% normal now. Then I'll go under 2 hours, and under 2 hours 100% both on normal. Then I'll unlock the other 2 pictures only accessible from hard mode. The full suit one was already unlocked by the guy I'm borrowing this from, so I won't worry about that. Maybe I'll do a quick run on easy to get it on my own, then I'll start maybe doing some speed runs. I'm at 44 min. on my 15% run...and I just realized I picked up an extra energy tank! FUCK!!! Well, now I either skip Screw Attack, a SM Tank, or I restart...I'll restart. And maybe this time I'll do Ridley before Kraid. Course, I'm not doing Varia Suit before Ice Beam cause I suck at diagonal and horizontal bomb jumping, but maybe Ridley...
I thought I was speed running when I beat it <2:00 100%... :(
I guess it wasn't really all that fast, though. My problem isn't the route, I can get a pretty good one down. It's the enemies: I've always been kind of a cautious gamer, who would rather pick off the baddies from a ways away than charge through or avoid them. I guess I'll just have to study each room.
I'm not sure what knid of run I'd want to do, though. Low % would be tough, and I don't have that much skill, especially since I take the most time when I'm under powered. And on 100% I'd have to contend with red scarlett's fearsome skills, and have people laugh about me and my poor time. But on any % I'd be focused on pure speed eveywhere, not exactly my forte. Any ideas?
