So, I got through the game again.

I think it needs some work, but I'm happy enough to have finally gotten that particular ending.

Radix, nevermind about my 34:29 run being captured.  My new run should be finished by tomorrow, hopefully.  I had a bit of time to play this weekend and really took advantage of it as I am at the first Tourian save point in 16 minutes!  The final time will definately be at least 32. :)

That's 11:27 faster than last time. Yay! This is a world record too, isn't it?

Well I do basically the same thing as I did in my 34:29 run, except I don't get the Screw Attack.  There is also a missile expansion that I don't get that I got in my last run.  It's really hard now though cause I have to do Tourian with 55 missiles.  Also, I walljump... a lot.  It's like Sess-style walljumping.  I've nailed most of my segments for the most part.  I can probably get this 10-20 seconds faster actually, but that would kill me.  I tried Tourian for a few hours yesterday but didn't have any luck.  Since I have so few missiles I have to make it all the way through and by the end of the segment have all of my missiles and supers.  I missed it by one refill on one run, but for the most part I haven't had much luck.  Hopefully I'll get it today, but I have to be just as lucky for Mother Brain...

BTW, my exact time at Tourain is 16:56.

Well I had 50 missiles and 4 supers and I reached the save with 49/2.  I think my strategy after that was pretty good, although once I refilled I should have used 7 missiles on the last 2 zebetities and saved the supers for an easier brain fight.

sweet. you too, circa, keep up the good work.

you people are starting to make me look bad. :P usually runs are so rare i have plenty of time to recover in between. it doesn't matter, though, because this is how i prefer it! :D

I just nailed my Tourian segment with near perfect refills (my health is 2 off from being perfect, but that's it).  So now I'm at Mother Brain with 18:21.  I have a question though.  Is it possible for the Rinkas in the first parts of the Mother Brain room to drop super refills?  I tried for quite a few minutes but didn't get one.  I'd hate to have to backtrack to the previous room for a super refill.

After Mother Brain it should be smooth sailing.  My time will definately be somewhere in the 32 range... probably around 32:30.

Congrats on tourian!  Bulleta says that the red rinkas do in fact drop a super, but it's very very rare.  I've never seen it personally and she says she's only seen it twice, so I think you'd just be better off doing exactly what I did ... destroy first two zebs, go back for refills and then continue.

I've seen the red Rinkas drop supers before as well.  It's pretty rare as Radix and Bulleta said.

I just don't understand how you people can beat the game so fast...  I also cant understand how you do it with so little...  I always have to recheck that last spot because you might be able to bomb it.  I'm as curious as a kitty

There are only 2 times I can remember a normal Rinka dropping a Super, one was I think the 3rd Metroid room (the one where you start at the top left, have to drop down, go right, then the door is on the right, kinda like a U shape), and against Mother Brain.

Only 2 times I can remember.

20:29 at Chozodia now.  My Mother Brain fight was near perfect, but I messed up the escape a little bit.  Still, I wouldn't pass up a Mother Brain fight that good.  When I was trying that segment, there was one time where a normal Rinka dropped a super refill, but I messed up the Mother Brain fight.  That could have saved another 10 or so seconds.

My final time actually has a good chance of being 31:xx now.  I'm over 2 1/2 minutes faster than my 34:29 now, you do the math...
