Look at that screenshot above. See the score? See how it's a 9% Hard game? Notice that I posted it. That would lead one to believe that I got the score, which is only attainable on a Euro. game.

I tried that, and I get to the last Metroid room before I either get sucked by a metroid because of too many of them, or because a rinka hits me and I get sucked by a Metroid. I also got REALLY DARN CLOSE to beating that room once(one metroid left), but then a rinka hit me and I died. Crying or Very sad

Update on my 100% hard run: I am saved in Kraid with 6:52, where AJ had 7:31 . The first segment was identicle to his first segment, but in the second one I "skipped" the Varia Suit, (AJ got it) and I nabbed the E-Tank in the ceiling next to the skrees (AJ saved that one for later) .

Why did you get the E-tank next to the skrees? I think it's faster if you save it for later. Anyway, good luck with the heat rooms; I think they're hard to get past in 100% hard without Varia.

Well never fear, I haven't done it either. The hardest run i've accomplished is a 9% normal run, which I finished in about 1:11, and took me a month to finish.

I've timed that one out extensively...the time is identical wiether you bomb jump early to get it or wait until you have space jump...thus the reason I pick it up early (and helps in a Varia-less Norfair environment  Wink )

That post would teach me to IBJ to the e-tank near the skrees, because as soon as I started skipping Varia, I started saving that one until later, thus making the heat rooms harder. That explains why I had so much trouble with the heat rooms Embarassed

well, I had a tragic run last night.

I had a really nice single segment run going - I messed up the bomb jump after power grip and I miscounted my missiles on spore spawn, but otherwise it was pretty good. everything from Ridley to the suit was very, very good.

I had been playing for about two hours straight, though, and my hands were hurting. can't stop in the middle of a single segment run, though, so I went on. everything from chozodia on was just me thinking "man, I know these hands are going to make me miss a super missile on mecha ridley."

yup.

now, this wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't really, really stupid. I sat there shooting missiles at him until he died, and by "shooting missiles at him", I mean I just kept jumping and shooting until he died. once he died, I said to myself "oh my god, I have two missiles. there's no way I can shoot that robot."

to make a long story short, I went back and watched my run - I lost 9 seconds on mecha ridley, and -28- seconds waiting for the (insert word) robot to walk his slow ass out of the way.

30:32, 26%. I'd send it to nate but that escape was just embarassing. I'll get under 30 soon.
